Goes without saying that I adore that purple perle  ! I must get some metallic perle in my growing collection too - I know it's really really expensive by comparison but how do you rate Caron Snow? Your designs are so amazingly versatile - there are soooooo many colour combinations that they can be stitched in, such endless possibilities.

Amanda, Caron Snow is gorgeous to work with but not always easy to find. I've got it in a number of colours, but my favourites are the white, light grey/silver (both used int he dragonfly) and the Dusty Gold (used in Starlight). If you want to try them out, those would be the ones I'd recommend as they are so versatile!

Oh frabjous day! (to quote Lewis Carroll)

Isobel's door hanger has finally been completed    and here it is:

I also made a little matchbook needle keeper based on the tutorial posted some time ago, but I changed it so that the patterned side of the card is on the inside, and the outside has a bit of stitching stuck to it:

What beautiful colours on the door hanger  . Does this mean you are now no longer intimidated by the sewing machine? You wouldn't be alone if you were, as mine sits in the corner of the kitchen and although I do use it, it is with some trepidation  !!

The little needle keeper is beautiful. It would make a lovely little present for a stitchy friend.

Fab door hanger, and great needle keeper - I haven't got round to doing one yet - I like the stitching on the front idea

Can't believe you did the round dozen without the chart  It looks lovely. Did you go back to check the chart after?

Love the colours on the door hanger and the needle book too :applesauce:

Lessa, it wasn't quite that bad :-) -- I'd already done all the white/silver satin stitch, and after having done so many I know exactly where the coloured diamond goes, so I only needed to make up the filling.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that :-) but at least I'm not nearly as intimidated as I was!

*intones solemnly* "The sewing machine is under MY control"
*looks around nervously to see if the sewing machine is planning revenge for this impudence*

Atta Girl!! I see the machine trembling already!!

Now look here Mabel! You have awed the entire stitching world with your designs, your ability to become A Cover Girl is something us mere mortals will not achieve plus you can design and maintain web-sites....

DO NOT let a machine beat you!!!

We are behind you all the way in mastering this beastie!!

Another great finishes, Mabel! The door hanger is so colorful!

I think my mom is bringing me a sewing machine as a gift next month. I told her I've been wanting to buy one and she has 4 at home. I've used it before when I was learning patchwork, but I'm not very good at it, maybe I'll have mom give me some lessons as she's fantastic at it! I think you did great with it!

That needlecase is a brilliant idea! Really like the new designs, of course.

Saturday, will go splendidly. And you've linked to the matchbook needlecase, too. Brill!
