I finally found a place that sells Madeira floss at a reasonable price ($.60 per package instead of the $1.80 or even $2.00 I've been seeing) and received my order today.

Is it just me or they do look brighter than DMC?

Thread Express. They also carry lots of different silk floss and hand-dyed/overdyed threads.

What pretty colors those fabrics are. Do you have plans for each one?
And what a pretty kitty. No way you can keep them away.

I don't have plans for all of them yet. It was a lot sale and I was almost out of my huge piece of white Aida, so I thought "Why not?". They're all 15x18 pieces. Now I need to find a nice lot of evenweave.
The mauve looking one will be used on the Owl SAL from Oakhaven though, I'll stitch it for my husband's grandmother, as she collects owls.

Not exactly the Postman, but the new Michaels near my house (only 5 minutes away) had the grand opening today and a 50% off coupon for one item today and 40% for one tomorrow and 50% off next week-end. So I will be making several trips. Got the evenweave for my HAED pattern today. 25 ct. It said white, but I got a more offwhite and think it will still be fine. The girl at the checkout asked what I was doing and said she cross stitches and has seen many of the HAED designs but hasn't had the courage to try one yet. I told her this would be my first and if it goes well that I was going to be truly addicted. I am already trying to figure out how they would go on my "infamous" afghans, but that is way into the future. I'm afraid I will need to be saving up for frames. Anyway, I am excited about the pattern and the fabric. Now I need to go back and read the threads with all the tips for doing HAEDs and evenweave. I am thinking that tent stitch 1 over 1 would be different. I'm also thinking since evenweave is on sale that I might get another one just for practice. Well, just talked myself into that for tomorrow. At 40% off it would still be a good deal.

That's great Carole! I'm taking a trip to Michael's this weekend as well, to get the rest of the threads for my first HAED, I hope there's some sale going on when I go.

And I hope they have all the numbers I need.

Got another evenweave to practice on but better than that just downloaded the freebie from HAED. In celebration of fairy day. It came in an email. And also notice of a sale coming up.
which will last until July 4 and be the last one until Labor Day. I AM SO TEMPTED. I also have to sign up for BB there. But I guess that goes on another thread.
I do have a few more coupons for Michael. They say that only one per day can be used but when I was checking out an asst manager said they could ring items up as seperate transactions. So now I am thinking some of the jewel DMC packets. They are so lovely. I'm not sure where I would use them, but I just love them. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

The middle one is a wedding sampler than I intend to stitch up for my brother's upcoming wedding!!

Verra nice Karen.. I recognize that first chart! I can wait on mine and we can do it together if you want. I haven't touched it since my last update- just the stitching on the N is finished. No gold border, no beads yet. I don't have any schedule for this one- if it's done for this Christmas.. or the next.. its for me.
