I got two grab bags from Polstitches - one silk threads, the other mixed evenweaves - bought with some of the money I got from selling my Rules For Life Sampler. :) I'll post pics tomorrow...

Well, it seems I chose an "assorted" bag of threads rather than the silks one I thought I'd ordered*, but no matter - it's still all gorgeous. Here's what i got:

Image

Four pieces of gorgeous fabric - three are long pieces and I'll be able to get a couple of bookmarks out of each, the other is a regular, rectangular piece which will suit a small sampler. An a whole host of lovely threads (one of which is silk), including glisten gloss, metallic gold Kreinik and a string of gold bead braid. I shall look forward to finding projects for them all! :)

* Nope, I've just checked my original order and I definitely asked for the "mixed silks" pack, but I still don't mind too much, as I got such a nice selection.

I dont think I can resist the urge to go to polstitches now!!! I love getting the grab bags from silkweavers but they only have them at the beginning of year (from what I've noticed anyways) when I'm broke after Christmas  Does anyone know if shipping from polstitches to the states is pricey?

I haven't done that kind of shopping but it is looking so intriguing. The fabrics are sooooo pretty and the threads just as lovely. I can't wait to see why you do with these.

Well, I bought another kit off ebay. That's the problem with having spending money from completing a model. DH saw this in a magazine and really liked it. I've been watching prices for a while and got this one in the price range I wanted. Another one for the to do eventually pile. My daughter rolls her eyes when I keep getting kits--she thinks I have enough (she's only 5), but she said I could start on this one really soon!

That is so pretty. I would be tempted to stop everything else just to work on it.

Well, not much of an option right now. With the Dimension Gold kits, I really prefer to work them on my scroll frame. I currently have the model on one and the Christmas Cove on the other one. Plus, I started a Dimension Gold eagle about a year ago that I put to the side to do projects on deadlines so that one should be worked on, too. Maybe I'll have DH stitch this one or one of the eagles when he finishes DS's horses.

The kind postie brought my Ott lite. Nicer than the last one. a little more stylish. Insteadof pae grey (which is difficult to keep clean  ) It's a lovely black/brown and the height is adjustable too. I.m a happy camper

Congratulations. :sun: now you will have the light you need to get back to stitching. Still, the blanket you crocheted was very pretty. I am right arent' I about the baby blanket? Sometimes I am afraid I am going to comment about something to the wrong person. If I do, its age I guess and I apologize ahead of time.
