I still think it is too pretty to be used as a tea towel :)

Somebody on the embroidery FB group I'm a member of aid it reminded her of a murder mystery :-) - one of those cosy English ones, I hope!

A fellow member on the Mary Corbet FB group posted a quickie little Christmas tree she'd free-handed on paper; I asked if I could use the design and stitched it on fabric. It was really quick, and very relaxing!

So now we know whodunnit in Cluedo - it was Mabel,... in the kitchen,... with the knife

Lovely stitching on the tea towel though, and I thought you were only going to use it for glassware?

Love that tree, Mabel so very effective, and pretty! :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

DH suggested candles instead of baubles on the tree, so I may experiment with bugle beads :thinks: :thinks:
And I found just the right frame for it - the one that came with Ethelnute's kit, which I didn't use!

Perfect candle, the bugle beads work just right, it was meant to be.

The tree is so beautiful :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I love your tree: quick but very effective. The pine needles look real and the baubles are perfect. Great design :applesauce: :applesauce: !

What fun! I do love the hanging beads. Bugle candles would be excellent, too. (There are times when I wish I used Facebook.)

And here it is, with DH-inspired candles :-)
They are silver bugle beads, but unfortunately that doesn't show up very well in the pic.

Absolutely beautiful Mabel, the bugle beads work so well.

This is so elegant.

I love it.

Very well done.

I liked this design from the very beginning, but with the "candles" it is even more beautiful and absolutely perfect.

Sarah Homfray's little crewelwork bird hooped up, ready to come to Devon with me and be shown off to MIL

My goodness Mabel you don't hang around do you?

Will you be doing any stitching while you're in Devon? or was that a silly question

It is a beautiful bird.

Very little, probably, as we'll only be there for Sat and Sun and with eldest SIL and BIL we will have to pretty much clear out the bungalow - MIL has gone into sheltered accommodation since FIL died and the house has now been sold. Any time not sorting and clearing will be spent with MIL, but some of that time may well be spent stitching as it's rather nice the two of us stitching together while having a chat!

*whispers* I may even get a few stitches in tonight...

Oh goodness,

Good luck with the clearing and sorting. :x:

I hope you get to spend some quality time with MIL.

And do try to not overdo it please, you are still recovering from the flu

:x: the clear out and sorting goes well and that you and MIL get to enjoy some quality time together stitching and chatting. It is an emotional time too to do take 'time out' occasionally all of you to recruit your strength.

Love the design and you have made a good start on it too.
