Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone! :D

Backstitch done! (Sorry the focus is a bit fuzzy.) So now I just have goldwork and beads to do!

I've done a tiny bit of goldwork before, on a brown blackwork item I stitched, but have never done beading before, so I'm dreading it a bit! However, I now have some Thread Heaven, so the gold thread should be easier to work with, and I have some beading needles on the way.
Not far to go now! :D

Edit: I now realise why the focus is fuzzy - I had it adjusted for distance, outdoors, and forgot to change it...

Wonderful work on the backstitching - it's really so worth it on this design - and good luck with the gold and beadwork :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: If you haven't already got them, I'd recommend short beading needles. I found some recently (see Hints and Tips thread) and they are so much easier to work with than the traditional long beading needles. It'll be lovely to see this project through to completion now :D :D :D

The backstitching looks wonderful. :applesauce:

Don't worry about beading, it's much easier than French knots! The hardest part is chasing the beads with your needle, especially if you're using petite beads.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I love it!! You've done such a nice job on this and I hope you will find the beading to be much easier than you expect it to be!!

Yes, I saw that in Hints and Tips, thanks, SusanF. :D And I have saved the link to the site in case I find the normal beading needles too long.

Lessa - yes, I find french knots tricky to get right as well! And the beads ARE tiny...

Thanks, Karen and bert! All encouragement welcomed! :D

The goldwork and beads will make it even more beautiful  I've done a lot of beadwork and it's very easy. You'll breeze right through it!

Thanks, everyone! :D I did a little bit of the goldwork this evening, and it looks nice. Not too difficult either, thanks to Thread Heaven - it's amazing what a difference that stuff makes!

I wont show another pic, I think, until I've completed it. Shouldn't take too long.

But then I have to find a reliable framer in my area, or try framing it myself...
