Everyone gave me money for my birthday this year, and I dont need anything so I saved some and Louise @ acrosstown has these kits for £13.50 instead of the £19.99 , luckily this is all she had left or I would have got more!

Stash splurges are needed every so often, you are right though, don't know where to start with them!

Last year I could NOT get in the Christmas mood. I barely decorated and it came and went without any great impact. That did not sit well with my mum, apparently. Yesterday she sent me a facebook message telling me to look out for mr postie today. I had a migraine and simply responded with ok. She poked me that night to remind me and to drop the hint that it was something to get me in the mood for Christmas.

Of course my Postie hid around the corner until I left for work (2 hours after he usually comes), but when I got home there was a lovely parcel. Inside of it was a gift wrapped parce:

It had a pink postit attached that said with love from mum and dad - a little something to get you in the mood for Christmas
Inside was this:

Apparently she wasn't sure about it, but she wanted to get me a kit as I would no doubt be a thread short if she got me a chart, and this one was chintzy (I really am a chintzy type). What she didn't know is that I adore it! I love the dimensions Gold series, I adore Christmas roses and the bird looks like one in my garden. So this is getting started as soon as I finish Halloween!

What a thoughtful gift! I have three of those (one almost done, one barely started, one just opened and admired) and love them. They are the perfect portable projects and went to California with me recently. (Okay, so I only got a few stitches in, but it was better than none, right?)

My post lady brought me the stashmas present that I ordered on Friday. I can't post any pictures, because it's a stashmas present. But Stitches from the Heart is amazing   . I called Friday, and the gift was in my mailbox yesterday   And I had a $15 dollar credit with them, so I actually only spent $6 out of the $15 allowed for stashmas.  Stitchenkitty is going to be super spoiled this stashmas!

Okay, I have been very naughty lately...this all came from three different sources over the course of a few days.

Image

The small magnifier is lighted and lightweight, so good for small projects and travelling. The floor magnifier...well, it's all your fault because several of you posted how terrific it is (and I got it on Amazon for a lot less than in stores).

I have everything I need now for Six Fat Men and the (Stoney Creek) Autumn Welcome (not sure which of the gorgeous orange fabrics I'll use), and I have most of what I need for the (Little House Needleworks) Little House on a Hill. I was drawn to the Autumn Welcome by its colors; Little House on a Hill I just thought was super cute and a good portable project...I justified it by the fact that the subdivision I live in is called Side Hill. (Yes, I can justify most anything...let me know if you need help. :-))

P.S. Jackson is extremely intrigued by and unsure of the floor magnifier.

I've been really bad lately too. I seriously need to block access to ebay from my computer.
I've bought a ton of material including one 72"X72" piece of 22 count light peach evenweave. It's gorgeous and I'm thinking it will work for two of my HAEDs with some left over for bookmarks or something.
Today I won an auction for a big pile of floss. I figured out that I saved $20 versus getting it at Michael's. Going to need another storage box and more bobbins.

The excuse I'm using for the next couple of months is that I'm finally debt free. It's very exciting.

I'm glad I'm not alone, and I think the excuse I'm going to use is that you are debt free. :-)

Must be something in the air.

2 days ago this landed on my doorstep- it took an amazing 8 days from 123 stitch to get to my home in coastal Brisbane - absolutely unheard of speed - and all done by regular air mail post.

Image

There is an 18x27 piece of Cashel linen, Flax I think, plus another Sweetheart Tree Tinnie V this time. Most importantly I now have a 6" hoop to do my SOTW SAL without moving the hoops!!! Then the most gorgeous Just Nan chart I just had to have and it has the embellisments with it too - plus lots of stitches I don't know. My excuse was I need something to take down todear son's house over Christmas to stitch and though this would fill the bill. Sadly it is more challenging than I though, so I will have to buy something else - Maybe one of British Heritage ones - cats singing"Silent Night ' or perhaps the Cat Choir both by Margaret Sherry I think and both destned for my dear sister who sings with Sweet Adelines Womens Barbershop Chorus in Christchurch (NZ - currently in Hawaii for the Intnl Convention).

Then DD & I got home from a day out in the country and this was in our letter box

Yep My Stashmas gift is here now too.

I think celebrating Dawn being debt free is an excellent reason for increasing one's stash! I am also willing to help anyone looking for excuses, I mean justifications, for stash accumulation.
Beautiful stash everyone. We can't see inside your gift from Mabel, Sally, but knowing who it came from means it has to be beautiful!

I wasn't expecting this until some time next week, so I was really surprised when my order of Weeks Dye Works #5 and #8 pearls showed up today! Now I have to decide which ones to use on my three remaining "Rounds". East. Noon. and Summer. These are the kinds of decisions that are fun!

Got these from Nordic Needle. I think that 123Stitch only had one type of WDW pearls so I checked with my next go to online shop and they had a lovely selection. I am in serious trouble. Good thing HAEDs use DMC because this is getting expensive

Oh we are a naughty bunch, aren't we? But look at how much we are helping our economies...yep, we do it not for ourselves but to contribute to our respective countries' economic well being. (Does anyone believe that?)

I am down in Colorado Springs this weekend and hope to hit up a quilt shop here that also sells cross stitch stuff. Wish me luck. :-)

Awe way too cute. I love the second picture...like "If I look a pitiful will she leave me here?"
I have forgotten about this thread and have done a lot of ordering the last few months and haven't been posting pictures. How horrible of me not to enable or let you that are on stash bans live vicariously through me.

I will do better I promise.
