Yes, and they took forever .

Not much stitching time for the next three days or so, friends to dinner tonight, 60th birthday party tomorrow, helping cousins move house on Sunday, but I hope I'll manage to do a little of the border -- there's lots of white Kloster blocks which don't take too much attention so i can do them even if I'm a bit tired!

The design is just lovely. I really like the delicacy and elegance of these designs. I am going to have to save up my $ and think about them for my next afghan. Can these be done on regular Ann Cloth or Charles Croft Afghan fabrics? It would take quite a few designs I think, but it would have a kind of quilt look to it? I still have a lot to go with my current WIPs, but I am always thinking 2 or more (way more usually) projects ahead.

If your cloth is an evenweave, and 18ct or higher, you should be fine with these designs; on 18ct you may need to use thicker threads, e.g. #3 instead of #5, in order to get good coverage, but otherwise I can't see a problem.
Serinde, you've done a lot of Hardanger, do you have experience of using a fairly loose-weave lowish-count fabric?

The Charles Croft Afghan fabrics that I have used in the past (and hope they still make them) are 18 count so that is a possibility. Do you think the Hardanger patterns would work in an afghan? Between these and the HAEDs which I also am quickly falling in love with as I watch everyone else's work I will have enough to do for a very very very long time. Would get done faster if I stitched more and "forumed" less.

I havdn't been around much for the last few weeks and missed so many of your beautiful new designs. I don't know where to start, so I'll just say ... wow!!

Your designs are so wonderful! They're making me want to learn how to do Hardanger. I especially love how your jewelry box turned out.

I'm getting on reasonable well with Berrington Hall (I), but I can't make up my mind what to stitch next -- the trouble is whenever I do a new design, I want to stitch that, NOW! .

Over the weekend I did two designs in cream, moss green and brown which are tempting me, and a set of four coaster-sized designs called Seasons. They share a basic shape, then there is variation in the filling stitches, worked bars and surface stitching, and in the colours.

All four have Kloster blocks and satin stitch in either white or cream, and then filling and surface stitches in a colour. I designed them fairly pastelly, with light green for spring, rose pink for summer, orange for autumn and light blue for winter, but then I thought some people might like something brighter, so I as an alternative I chose daffodil yellow for spring, green for summer, dark orange for autumn and mid-blue for winter.

Which would you prefer?

I am a sucker for those bright colors, red, blue, green and yellow. Still I think that the pastels look more sofisticated. The bright colors are mostly used for children's clothing, I find, which is a shame. They make me happy.

Well, I thought of using the four of them together as a cushion cover, and the bright shades would make rather a nice one I think -- anyway, I'm a great beliver in choosing colours you like and feel happy with, even if other people say they are children's/old peoples'/boys'/girls' colours !

Color is stitching is always good, and both are lovely, but I agree, the pastels look fantastic!!

I like both combinations and I think it will depend on where you want to display it, to help you decide which combo would be the best.

I guess it comes down to personal choice. I love muted colors, so I would personally prefer the pastels however, the bright colors you chose are really very pretty too! It's a hard decision.
