Here's a house I designed for a "moving house" card (you can read the story of the design process on FoF) -- it was quicker to stitch than I thought! and I like the effect of the really chunky french knots. The fillings are meant to be glass which is why they are blingy
Mabel, I love your Moving House design. You've very talented! Theresa

Mabel has certainly proved that with this design. Amazing.

Love the Frozen Flower piece and yes, that would look stunning in red as a poinsettia or yellow for a sunflower. I still think that 3D effect is impossible..
Yay for Moving House! I was following along in FoF and nice to see the finish. I love those colours. And not too much cutting, so even better for me.
The frozen flower is just jawdroppingly stunning. I LOVE it. I'm so glad you got all the problems sorted out.
The moving house design is beautiful too. It didn't take you long to stitch up!!
Heaven help me when my stash acquisition ban is lifted, my bank account won't know what has hit it!!!
Home Sweet Home is now on the site, and I'm making good progress with the new Lustrum version, but I've just stitched the initials and I'm not altogether sure about the shade . You see, I needed something darker than the Caron thread I'm using for the rest of the design because that is too light to show up. But if it's too dark it will "take over".
What I may do is stretch it over dark lavender felt to match the lettering, so the cut areas show that same shade, and balance it. What do you think?
Well, I had to unpick the initials -- the thread was simply too dark. I substituted a lighter, standard DMC stranded cotton and fortunately that has worked out OK. I then had to use a slightly darker shade for the numbers as they are tiny and done in one strand, and I think that's worked as well although I'm afraid they'll need my MIL's stitching magnifying glass to see them.
