Thanks, everyone! :D I've now washed and pressed it, and bought a frame - not exactly the best frame, but the best I could find at short notice. Now I have to get some acid-free card to back it - hopefully one of two local shops that sell art card should have some.

But I am almost sorry I have completed the stitching - I miss it!

I've started on a Dimensions kit of Napping Kitten - which I will put in a new thread soon - but it isn't the same as stitching The Storyteller, not by a long way. :(

However, I have some interesting projects waiting for me, BUT before I can do them I have to complete a UFO (my mother's unfinished tapestry of When Did You Last See Your Father?) because I need to free up the big floorstand it's occupying! Happily, there isn't much of it left to do. :)

Wow, well done on a fantastic finish! I haven't seen this one in a while. The backstitching and beads are so effective, I love it.

I've just taken this to be framed. New guy to me, though he seems to have a lot of experience. Meh... I really hated leaving it there! All fingers and toes :x: It's like leaving a baby with a new childminder... :shamrock:
Still, if he's any good it means I don't need to worry in future... It'll be at least two week, probably more before I get it back. Says he's snowed under with work... but he chatted for ages! I have a pretty full family history now... !

Your new framer sounds like a lovely guy .... but maybe if he chatted a little less he could do the framing a little quicker!!

Can't wait to see it framed - it is so stunning!! :applesauce: :applesauce:

I'm ashamed to say I missed your finish on this  But it looks amazing! Hope your new framer does a good job although I don't blame you feeling twitchy having to leave it for two weeks!!!???

I like the frame I chose. Kinda stressed pale gold. I think it suits well. And no mount. I think it looks better without a mount, myself. He wanted to put one in, but nothing he showed me looked right. He's just going to put supports under the rim to keep the glass off the stitching. He seems to know what he's doing - and he said I know what I'm doing as well! Which was nice. :)
He showed me a little pic stitched by another lady and I'm sad to say my immediate reaction was "I'm a better stitcher than her!"  I felt rather ashamed of myself... :shifty:

:-) You were simply justifiably proud of your work, that's all :-)

I've had a couple of moments like that myself (mostly when out and about) - I think we all do! Conversely. I've also had the old "OMGs! I wish my stitching looked as good as that!" moments - most often on this forum!
