I'm doing a Dutch house in Hardanger at the moment!!
I just need to get the window fillings right then I'll post up a picture.

The Frozen Flower is stunning! And your little brown 'Moving House' struck a real chord with me! It's not only beautifully stitched, in perfect colours, it also makes me really want to make one of my own! .... but I'm such a custard...

Fljotsdale, thanks for your kind words about HSH; most of it is satin stitch (needle up, needle down, done ) and french knots, which surely hold no terrors for you since your magnificent tree of stitches! And if you like I could write special non-cut instructions for you -- all the filling stitches can be done on top of the fabric, and if you did them in black they'd look like the lead in those period windows!

Just before we left for Wales I managed to finish my in-laws' anniversary sampler . I now have to find some dark lavender felt to use as backing when I lace it. Anyone know off the top of their head where to find such a thing?

At the mention of felt my first thought was Paper and String - she sells lots of different colours of felt in various sizes (among other things) - don't know if you will find the right shade for you though......

Thanks Amanda, she'd got some lovely shades! (I really like the Sage one) Not sure there's the right blue -- Baby Blue seems the right sort but a bit pale, and purple is too, well, purple . I'll keep looking!

I've seen somewhere selling a good range of felt but can't think where off the top of my head. I'll have a look once I get onto the computer. (On the phone at the mo).

Have you checked Blooming Felt, they have a few different colours, maybe there will be a suitable one there.

Mabel, it was stitch direct so I expect you've already seen all there is on there. I hope you find the right shade to set it of. It is gorgeous

I left it rather late to get a frame for my in-laws' sampler, and had forgotten that the Easter weekend was also going to come in between, so here was a certain amount of panic in the Mabel household last week!

But the framers here in Rugby that I've used before have come up trumps -- at least, they will if their suppliers play ball and deliver the material for the frame to them on time, but they've promised that even if the wood doesn't turn up until Friday morning, they'll have it done for me by Friday afternoon, in time for use to take it to London on Saturday; great service!

And not too expensive either; I'll be doing the lacing and assembling myself, but for a frame, mount, backing board and cut-to-size mount board for lacing it came to under £18 which I though was very good. Depending on when i can pick it up and how long it takes me to assemble, I may not be able to upload pics until after the weekend, but I promise I'll show the finished result

Over the weekend I did manage to do some stitching-at-the-dining-room-table (mostly because the original plan on the calendar, gardening, was rained off...) and finished all the woven picots on the larger version of Frozen Flower. I was quite surprised how different it looks in different colours! Well, differently distributed -- it's still white and greys, but here the fabric is white. Anyway, here's a sneak preview:
