I seem to have missed this thread for quite a while, and just had a good nose through. Beautiful designs as always. I had my eye on Frozen Flower from your "comin soon" part of the website, but never realised it was going to be 3d. I'm completely blown away!

Yay, they got it done in time   !

This morning I set about lacing the sampler -- I didn't find a dark lavender felt, but found a dark blue that worked all right. I laced the stitching over mount board, wadding and felt, and it took me about an hour and 15 minutes, which I was quite pleased with :-)

Then we got the call that the frame and mont were ready, so picked them up and put the whole thing together -- the frame is actually a bit more silvery than it looks in the pic, it's a sort of silvery wash over a dull gold ground, if that makes sense :thinks:

So it's ready to take to the celebrations tomorrow!

Beautiful, Mabel! Do you just do lacing for your framing, or do you also pin your pieces? Theresa

Theresa, I'm not sure what you mean by pinning  unless you mean pin it to the mount board in preparation for lacing? In that case, yes, I do. I mark the centres of the four sides of the mount board (or foam core), then with four pins I count out fromt he centre of each side of the embroidery. Then I stick those pins into the centres of the mount board, and then with more and more pins I work towards the corners, making sure that I keep the grain of the fabric along the edge of the mount board. Then when I've laced it I remove the pins, and tighten the lacing, then fasten off. Hope that makes sense :-)
