i placed my last order before leaving the UK tomorrow!. once i get back to NZ i wont be able to shop for a while, so i've made sure i have plenty to work on!.

i got a few more charts - the 12th Santas Village and some speciality threads for them, and then a few other charts that caught my eye.

Image

i shall watch as you all buy gorgeous things while i have to sit on my hands!!.

My Christmas present just arrived and I've gotten it all set up in my stitchy spot. I was too excited and didn't think to take a pic of it before setting it up , but here she is! :D

I've been at my embroidery group this morning and when I got to the front door this was sitting sort of behind a pot plant.

Image

Carried it upstairs, very puzzled yet excited, shook it very gently, no rattle, set it down again thought about it then had a read of the documentation on the top. Mmmm it said it was from Dana - - - - Had a think mmm I know 2 lovely ladies with that name. Dana Gave in eventually and here is what I found.

Image

A most gorgeous beautifully hand stitched ornament with a Squirrel of course along with a lovely lovely card from Dana aka Verajane!!!!

Thank you so much you lovely young lady you. It has sure put the icing on the cake for today for me and I am still grinning about it. A lovely card with a self colour motif of a bird on a tree too. You have made a great job of it all and it will definitely be hung. Not sure where yet but it must be out of Tuppence's way thats for sure.

Thank you so much Dana. What wonderful people we have on this forum.

Yay!

I was so worried about it getting there as I've never shipped anything international before. It made my day knowing that it made it there safely and that you're enjoying it. :D

Haven't posted a stash pic in a while, but I was very pleased to see my postman today when he brought me this little lot:

Two lots of monthly hand dyed cottons from Michelle @ Jodyri Designs, a mystery pack of 10 silks from Eileen @ Thread Pickerz and 5 hand dyed cottons from Ebay - an afternoon of bagging and tagging I think :D !

:applesauce: :applesauce: Beautiful threads and lovely designs. Isn't it great to have a cross stitch friend to blame when adding stash of any kind. How are you going to be able to wait till the first to get started on your new project?

Au Ver a Soie? Gorgeous, and such lovely designs!

My postie brought me a completely unexpected envelope from Ireland, and in it the most wonderful surprise:

Image

Louise, the card is beautiful, I love your colourful version with the beads! And the designs are lovely, with some pretty challenging stitches in there...
Thank you for brightening up a rather grey day with a dentist's visit in it with these thoughtful gifts

Edited:
Oooh, the bullion knot centres have just given me an idea for abeaded filling...

Some lovely bits and pieces for everyone to enjoy.

@Mabel: You'll enjoy Emie Bishop's designs (I've had my eye on these for a while... ). It's not that they are difficult for an accomplished hardangerista such as yourself, but they are intricate. The results are generally lovely.

I have a few others by her as well. They are lovely, but I do find some of the instructions a bit, well, minimal... I'll figure it out though. "hardangerista", I like it!

I'd been waffling about getting more Caron Threads but a lovely surprise from a sweet and generous friend of a gift certificate to 123Stitch convinced me it was time to get the ones in my wish list.
Image
They are Watercolours and Wildflowers in Mediterranean, Fraises du Bois, African Sunset, Moonglow, and Iris. Already using African Sunset in a Hardanger design (will post pics when the cards are done). I have to really start seriously thinking how to organize my non-DMC threads. FUN!

These are vital necessities for a Christmas snowflake ornament and the lovely Sweetheart tree design Squirrel sent me for Stashmas.
