Thank you all so much ladies :)

Even though the wedding won't be for a couple of years we have started talking about ideas, venues, things like that. I'm trying to go slow about it all and let Graeme set the pace at which we think about things on the basis of I've been thinking about all of this for two months and he's known about it for about 36 hours now so I'm trying not to overwhelm him! I've just told him that and he appreciates it.

We're very much on the same wavelength on everything. It's so brilliant. I've ordered a notebook with a customised cover so we can both write in ideas of anything we think of relating to the wedding (I'm thinking guest lists, venue ideas, things we definitely do or definitely do not want, keeping it fairly vague at this point) but I've not told him that and I requested the longest (cheapest!) delivery time possible so it'll be less of a shock to him and he might have something to put in it when it arrives...!

I'M SO HAPPY! Thank you all for your support and for generally being there so I could tell some people before The Day, if I hadn't been able to do that I so completely wouldn't have been able to go through with it!

Thank you :) I'm thinking of getting a frame to put the card up on the wall somewhere...possibly as a placeholder until I make us a wedding sampler ;)

That's wonderful news, KK! Congratulations to you both - I hope you'll be blissfully happy together. :) :applesauce:

And much kudos to you for popping the question! I did the same thing to my hubby and everyone thought I was crazy not to wait till he asked me, but I might still have been waiting, if I'd done that - LOL!

Congratulations KK! I just read through this, what a story! I'm glad it worked out so well for you.

And I have to respond to this, even if it was a while ago!
XandraS wrote:Somewhat related - Hubby and I went from deciding to get married to wedding day in 4 weeks (hubby got offered a job abroad), we had a basic registry office ceremony, not put any thought into it ourselves (We plan to have another wedding later one, will put a bit more thought into that one), but the registrar read this lovely poem for us, and I've recently found it in xstitch - Apache Wedding Blessing by Janlynn. I have to stitch it, right?

Should also add, I never got a proposal, it went more like this.

Him: "Hmm, this job sounds perfect".
Me: "Definitely!"
Him: "I guess we'd better get married then."

The End
This sounds remarkably like my wedding. I had a work conference in Las Vegas, my then cohab was going to go with me, then my brother and sister in law decided to go, and my mom, and his parents, so we decided to get married. We planned it in about 4 weeks also, and had no idea what was going to happen at the ceremony, we also got the Apache Wedding Blessing! Maybe it's a standby? :)

Congrats again KK and good luck with the planning!
