OHHHHH I just received my very first hand dyed fabric!! Its called Dwarf from Picture This Plus, in 32ct crystal Lugana. Its soooo PRETTY! I can see what they mean about the molting not being as visible as it is with linen, but I'm still extremely excited about this.

On 32ct I may go cross eyed stitching! I'm debating on asking if I can switch to 25 ct instead, but my plan was to do 32ct over 2...I can't wait to stitch something on this! I'm planning to finally attack my carousel horse book. (one for every month series) Now I'm wondering if I should switch from regular cotton floss to satins to really do the piece some justice.

Dwarf is very pretty, Vega, it'll look lovely stitched! A little word of caution about satins, they can be very boingy and springy and unruly -- also they don't come in many colours. Perhaps you could choose one or two to replace regular colours as a shiny highlight?

Karen, thanks for the info -- when DH and I visit Burford needlecraft next Saturday I'm going to look at lots of Caron colours and this one has just been added to my list!

Thanks for the warning Mabel! I haven't worked with satins before so I haven't learned of their tricky ways yet. I'll take a look at the patterns and go from there.

Good suggestion with the satin threads Mabel--they do make a nice addition to a project but they do my head in with their unruly behavior!
Hope you manage to find some lovely threads next Saturday--I so wish I had access to a nice stitchy shop locally, but at least I can find them online

I was so happy to get a chart from Rosemary of a local beauty spot to me. Friar's Crag at Derwent Water.
Thanks Rosemary, I love it!!

I also got Jane Greenoff's 'The cross stitcher's Bible' from ebay. Only £3 something, so I was well pleased with that as well.

I'm pretty impressed with my postman today  , usually he brings me bills! :x

Thanks Karen, I saw it full price once in a shop and thought no way could I justify spending that amount then, so I was really pleased to get it so cheaply now!
Can't wait to start reading it!

I received my very first order from Sew & So.

I got some spending money for Christmas and decided to spend it on stitchy stuff :D I bought myself two thread organiser boxes, some extra bobbins and a double pack of snap frames to replace my hoop. I haven't been that excited to see the postman in a long time

I'm also awaiting some threads from ebay to start a Popcorn bear chart for my Grandma's 70th birthday. I hope they hurry up.

Aaaaaah. The postie just this second delivered the threads I need for Starry night with Tardis.

I don't think I've ever seen so many different blues together. Pretty

I already had several of the colours that I needed so I'm off now to pop these onto Stitchbows to go with them. That'll keep me happy playing for a while :D

    At long last my Cross Stitch Card Shop magazine Issue 75 has arrived. I bought it from a lovely seller on ebay, but due to the bad weather etc it took 40 days to arrive--not at all upset, just thrilled that it showed up finally. Loads of lovely designs to get started on for next holiday season

Not stitchy. I collect spoons and my husband has bought me quite a few more this week so I have had great fun opening packets discovering my surprises.
