Arighty here is an update the dress is mostly done I have a couple of colours that I need to put in and I need to get more DMC 800 because I ran out and for some reason I grabed the wrong colour for one of the symbols. I have no idea what I was thinking but I need to go the craft store this weekend. Some of the blank areas on the dress are either for beads or oter floss that I have not done yet.... and the body is coming along slowly. I am glutten for punishment that is for sure for doing the skin over 1 haha. I am also starting the flowers on the top as well.

Beautiful!

I totally have only touched this one time this week and made little progress. She is coming along though, this has just been a busy week with getting ready for a Martial Arts Demonstration to do this Saturday with my mom. So I have been "training" for it. Although it feels like death.... whatever that feels like.... And I have not done any training for Martial Arts in over 2-3 years I have been concentrating on my dancing instead. I also bought a couple new patterns both Mirabilia designs. I will post a pic of those later.
Gemm85 wrote:oh this is so pretty and looks like it's coming along a lot quicker than most of my projects! keep up the good work, I know what you mean about stitching in colours you hate!!!
I can stitch pretty quick especially if there is no distractions which I do get distracted pretty easily especially those pesky butterflies haha. But when I have time I will stitch for that whole time and sometimes all day.
I love Nora Corbett's designs even her Mirabilia Designs as well. This project doesn't have any Crescent Colours but does have Caron Waterlilies. I would like to do both the lettters "A" and "H" for both of my nieces.

Good luck training. At least with both activites you have good control of your body, so you're more aware of what you're doing, and likely way less clumsy than me!

Hope it goes well Sunday for you both and yes, pictures of the designs please!

Now that I am done doing the demonstration I do have an update of what I have done yesterday when I had a couple hours before I had to interpret for deaf movie night at my parents church. I did not have to interpret the movie, thankfully there were subtitles and they watched "Lord of the Rings: Two Towers" (the extended version) I had to interpret the discussion afterwards which ran really late.
But here is an update that I have and I am pleased. I showed it to the lady I will be giving it to. She was at the demonstration that was on Saturday and she is in LOVE and there was this other lady that I know who does cross stitching that was there and she helped me a lot to improve on my stitching and she examined it with a fine tooth comb and was very pleased even with the reverse side. Which led to a conversation wanting me to get a scroll frame and she gave me hers which I was soo excited and pleased with but a little sad because she hasn't done any needle work for at least 10 years now. But the lady I am giving it to saw the back and wants to frame it in ALL glass so you can see the back... which I have never seen that done in cross stitching before but it may be duable. As I look at cross stitching as an art and it should be viewed as a 360 work of art and not just one side because if you really think about it someone is seeing the back either a) while you are stitching, someone is seeing the reverse side as you're working or b) someone just sees it by mistake or purposefully. Haha.

Reverse side: It may look "Fuzzy" and I think it's probably the angle but I am also really picky...
I have one with a better look of the scroll frame but that picture is not downlading so when it does I will put it up.
Also I got 2 new patterns here is what I got:

She does stitch up pretty fast, especially if I just sit and plow right through it then I can do a lot. The scroll frame is working fantastically. I just need to replace either the bolts or the fasteners, because it is not fully tightening in a couple of areas. It's just a matter of time before it stops but my firend's mom gave the frame and she has had it for more than 10 years and it's amazing. I am very thrilled with it.
Thank you everyone. Reading the comments definitely helps me to keep going.

This looks very similar to my frame. What DH did was to use the bolts that have a square underneath the head of the screw so it locks down in the wood and doesn't spin. They work wonderfully. He also made another modification recently of stapling a small piece of wood to the inside of one of the stand legs so the frame is always at an angle I like without having to tighten & untighten the screws to flip the frame.

Wow Brandon, that's a lot more work considering how busy you've been. How nice that your mentor complimented your work, and gave you her scroll frame. It is sad she doesn't do needlework anymore, but I bet she's happy her frame has a good home.
Nice to know your intended recipient is looking forward to your finish!
