The gems are perfect. How could you have a pirate queen without jewels???
Very clever on your part to think of it.

Great! Glad you all think so.
I've always liked using things that make it more '3D' Started with using beads instead of french knots, cause I can't do them to save my life. lmao
I wanted to see if I could find a tiny row of beads on string for the necklace on the chest, but couldn't.
Oh and I'm doing the beads by hand

It's taking awhile. lol

I was at my mums at the weekend and while sorting through some things I found my Pirate Queen!! My mum has been on at me to finish her for a while so I thought why not! She is growing slowly, but she is nearly finished.
I want to sign a date and name at the bottom, basically I want to name her. She's French, 16th Cent. I'm thinking Juliette, Annabella, Maria... Something French.... Am I crazy naming her?? Lol
Anyway here she is....
Finished off her right leg and started on the boots
Beads on the bodice are rainbow black (Like oil when the sun hits it?)
More gold for her chest!

I wondered where she went. You are so close to the finish now. I think if you want to name her go ahead and name her. She is yours after all.
Angelica was the name of the pirate girl in the last Pirates of the Carribean movie. That sounds a little bit French to me and kind of funny for a lady pirate. Great update. The beads really make her sparkle.

I absolutely adore her treasure chest! Great thinking to add the beads to create some gems!
As for naming her, I normally name my pieces. The names normally just come to me

I can't think of any French names off of the top of my head though at the moment so sorry can't help with that

Oh, she's coming along beautifully.
Wikipedia has a
listing of all the real life female pirates as well as a bunch of them from fiction. That might be worth perusing for name ideas.
