Didn't get much done for a couple of days but it has a bit more color now. Needs a few leaves on the branches and the rest of the lettering and it will be done. This one has been fun to do.

Have one from the JCS Halloween picked out but need to study it and see if I have the material to do it.

Well, this thread cinches it! I thought I may get through this Halloween with my Just Cross Stitch magazine from last year, but nope! There are just too many great projects to resist! I definitely got my money's worth from it last year, so I don't mind the enabling this time ;)

I'd like to do the Edgar Allen Poe sampler. Doubt I have much of the floss for it right now, and not sure about the material. Old Witch Mary is slow going at the moment. The rest of the poem is done in petite stitches and I've not worked those before. I have to say I'm not enjoying this part much, but probably because I'm working it on Aida which doesn't make it easy. Not to mention hard on the eyes.

Oh, and I kitted up another Halloween one I've had the pattern for sometime and just got the material and floss I needed in the mail today. That makes 3 more Halloween projects waiting to be stitched. Can't forget my none holiday one that's wants me to get back to it also.

Sounds like you need a little break from Witch Mary until you're ready to tackle the rough spot with fresh eyes. Starting a new project is just the remedy  . I love the Edgar Allen Poe one and was going to do it next, but since I have all the stuff for Witch and friends, I'll do it next instead. I think the EAP one will take more time than I'm willing to give because I also remembered I have a Halloween Mill Hill beaded kit, I'd like to do :thinks:

The projects are all looking great.

I found the magazine and there are several designs calling my name.
The one I really want to do is Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble - wonderful, gorgeous, fun and I see something new every time I look at it. I doubt it will be this year, though as Tribal Bat is calling my name, too. And if I want to stick to my schedule on MIIHO, I can't take on more than one fill-in project at a time. Hmmm, Cauldron is little. Hmmm. :thinks:

That is a wonderful pattern! If you wait until next year there will be new patterns to contend with and this one will get forgotten about...just sayin'

Yes, true. There are several from last year's magazine that are still weakly calling to me.

Over lunch I convinced myself to do Cauldron before TB. Will look through my hand dyed fabrics tonight and see which one calls the loudest. That will then decide what colour floss gets used.

Well, I'm doing Fire Burn & Cauldron Bubble. I can work on it during breaks at work without interfering with MIIHO.

This is what the pattern will look like.

Fabric is Eek! from Picture This Plus and I'm using black floss. Using Anchor and am noticing it is thinner than DMC but I have no issue with a little orange showing through. It will add to the design I think.

This is what I got done during breaks yesterday. I still see new things every time I look at the pattern.
