Am I the only one who doesn't know what Tandem Cottage is? Am I being silly???
Great design Jenny - and looks so effective already!
In my small, yet frustrating experience of HAED - be prepared to break ALOT of needles!!!! I buy these from Ebay in bulk (of 50's) to keep me fully stocked!
I also have a needle threaded for every colour so I need quite a stash! £4.50 for 50 gold needles, including delivery! BARGAIN!
Out of interest what size aida are you working on?

Not silly at all; Tandem Cottage is a needlework shop in the Peak District, although I've only bought online. It's a small business (husband and wife, I think), but always very helpful and willing to find things for you if they don't stock them, and very reasonably priced. You can find them
here.
I love working with gold needles, and as yo say you can find great bargains on eBay; one shop there does 50 needles for 4.95 and you can choose different sizes (e.g. 25x size 24, 20x size 28 and 5x size 28) -- is that the one you found?

Thanks for the info on Tandem Cottage - going to have a gander now. Oh no....will try to be good and not add to the stash!

I agree!
Look at it in the blocks you've gridded and each time you complete one (or even half of one) look at it as an achievement and tell yourself how well you're doing!
That's what I do on anything that seems a little daunting. Pick out so much of it and set yourself that as a goal and then once you've achieved that, set another goal.
Small achieveable goals are the way to go and you'll be surprised how much quicker you seem to get along.

Thanks for the progress pic! I had been wondering about this one. I can't believe the detail in just one square.
I'm guessing the project must seem daunting at times, but it will be SO worth it.
