I agree too! Doing a ballon now will keep your interest in the project and stop your from puttting it away!

Well, I've considered putting the Wreath for all Seasons project away because it's a bit overwhelming to have two big projects going at the same time. The downside is I've been using the Wreath project as a break from this one. With that gone I'm going to have to find something else to do (preferable small). But on the upside, I get to rummage through my stash looking for something to do.

This is going to be a lovely picture when it's finished and you're making great progress. All that blue must be getting a bit tiresome though - I agree with everyone else and think you should do that first little balloon - can't wait to see it popping up! Judging from the first picture you posted of what the picture will look like, seems that first balloon has a whole rainbow of lovely colours in it!

Doing something different you saY? Well, . . . um . . . yeah I did start a new project today. Nothing big. It'll be 8 1/4 x 7 inches when it's done. If I put Wreath away I need something because I'm almost done with the Baseball Teddie. I've done more work on this one but now I've got something other than blue to stare at.
I went through all my thread this morning (instead of eating breakfast) and pulled out all the colors for this project and put them in a plastic bag. I figure if I start working on the balloons I'm going to be using a lot of colors and I want them all handy at once. All those bobbins of color look pretty in the bag. It makes me want to stitch it even fast so I can see how they're all going to come together.

Okay I gave in and started working on the first balloon (after I've done a lot more of the blue). I've finished a skein of blue thread already and I still have lots more of that color to stitch. I knew I was going to need a lot so a couple of weeks ago I bought extra of the blue I'm working on and the eletric blue I started with. I'm going over to my parent's tonight so I'll ask my mom if she wants to see any more of it even though she'll figure out what it is, or if she wants to wait until I'm done. I'll post pic updates later tonight or tomorrow.

I gave my mom a couple of choices last night:
1) don't look at it any more until it's done knowing you'll probably not see it again for 3 years.
2) look at it now and while I work on it knowing that you'll probably figure out what it is very soon but not knowing the final project, or
3) look at it now AND see a picture of the final project so you know what it will look like when done.
She chose #3. She said "wow", got speechless and started to cry a little bit. I asked her if she'd rather have the Wreath for all Seasons one and she said no. I guess she liked it. I just hope she lives long enough for me to finish it.

I'm sitting the other side of Jess Rose,
Masses of progress going on here

I can imagine how your Mum felt knowing you were doing something so special for her.

I bet she'll be on the look for constant updates (awww) so you might get to finish this sooner than you think!
