Wow! This design is gorgeous and you've done loads already!!!
I've done a couple of Gold Collection xs kits and the background does tend to be half stitch - just makes it that much quicker!!!
Can't wait to see this one progress - well done

Threadbear, I remember reading about that too, and I think I've seen it on eBay, but when i looked for it on various sites I couldn't find it

. Has anyone ever seen/used it?

You can already start to see the aurora effect. I just keep getting more and more tempted to order a very similar (if not the same) pattern from patternsonline.
I took a look; it’s definitely the same picture, only my version has been cropped a bit. Whether it uses the same stitches and threads though, I don’t know.

Julie, just a question. How many colors are in the pattern? I keep looking at the pic and trying to convince myself I don't need it

but it would look wonderful when finished! There's no rush on the answer.

Bit of a tricky question to answer because some colours are only used for combining with other colours
38 different colours
1 blending filament
25 different cross stitch symbols - strands used ranging from 1-2
28 different half stitch symbols - strands used ranging from 2-6
2 different sizes of French knots for stars
3 different back stitches
3 different couching

Just one more question, and take your time answering it because I am in no rush! I went ahead and ordered the pattern from patternsonline instead of buying the Dimensions kit. There's definitely differences (this one calls for 77 colors with everything being full stitch)!

I was just wondering what color the blending filament was (I know Dimensions use a lot of the pearl color) and where it might be used. Is it the lighting in the sky or the lake? Just a general idea would be great, but like I said, there's no rush! I hope you are enjoying this one!!!!
