Thought I'd have breakfast here this morning. (Wot? That last scone will only go to waste!) It's blowing a regular hoolie out there at the moment, and I'm glad I'm not properly Up North or in Lerwick! Suspect some of the roof tiles have shifted...
It's blowing here too.
A large piece of polystyrene blew into the garden. At least it's very light and no damage.
The metal fencing which surrounds the working part of the building site here has blown down again but the house next to us seems secure. The masons and bricklayers have finished their work and have cleared any loose stuff away but there's plenty of other rubbish flying about.
Lucky that we bought several heavy sacks of compost as they are now holding down the tarpaulin covering our still collapsed shed from the last wee blow.
You may have found the last scone, but I've just located that shortbread!!
Good luck to you both. Down in the south it's a little breezy, our problem is minor in comparison. The problem is that the dual carriageway behind the garden has been closed for the weekend. All the traffic is diverted onto our parallel road, so is going 6ft from the front wall of our house. Truck after truck after truck in a continuous traffic jam grinding past. Earlier this morning I had to wait 5 minutes before anyone allowed me to reverse the car out of the garage onto the road - the garage dates to pre 1920 and is 24" from the road. It's not helped by the fact not everyone who lives here can get their cars off the road to make it flow better.
Hope everyone who is facing big winter storms gets through them with minimal damage. Lots of warm drinks available (with or without alcohol) for everyone who needs one. And for those who don't need a hot drink but would like one anyway. Irish coffee and hot buttered rum have always been on my favorites list.

I've been watching the advance of the Nor'easter -- my parents seemed to cycle between Chicago and Boston, and these storms were a legendary part of my childhood. Expect we'll see the remnants here in a few days.
As for Corrie, it's dark and raining here. The wind's just starting to really pick up. Good fun.
Have brought more wood in for the fire, so everyone should be snug as bugs.
We used to watch PMQs regularly. My DH loved it. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like if we had something similar. The founding fathers probably made a good decision when they didn't include that in the Constitution. We'd probably be on the 200th president instead of the 46th
Just thinking about it makes me want to get a

Wednesday's PMQs seems to me to nothing more than a bunch of grown men reliving their youth by acting childishly and trying to score points off of each other
Its no wonder we have a monster raving looney party here in the UK.... actually I suspect we have more than one
There was one election in the mid 2000's in my constituency when the 'Official Monster Raving Looney Party', the 'Raving Looney Party' and the 'Mad Jack's Pirate Party' had three times more votes than the difference in votes between the winning Labour and loosing Conservative candidates. That election there was also a 'Fine Wines' party, but they got fewer votes than any of the mad parties. So, I can verify we have at least 6 looney parties.
Well, if you were operating under the Additional Members System which uses the d'Hondt system for apportioning the so-called "list seats" (as in Scotland) you might have representatives from these six looney parties. Not sure they'd make it worse...
