None for me... for me, this is how the diet worked: only garnish I get when eating meat is salad or vegetables but no potatoes. I do eat potatoes once in a while, but never with meat.

How do you walk: do you enjoy a stroll or do you always hurry?

Usually a quick pace as I am either exercising on on my way to someplace. Not much time for strolls that is stitching time. :D

I adore open fires. We haven't got one, but we had one in our cottage on holiday a few years back and it was a real treat!

I agree with the fire answer. But I would add that for me, it is only a real fire if it is burning wood- no gas fireplaces for this girl. Nothing beats the smell and sound of a crackling fire.

But onto my question.. charts or kits.

I like kits. But I am a beginner-ish stitcher. I have downloaded a few free charts so I will try my hand at them.. but they are a more expensive option... pattern, threads, fabric. The kit I am working on now I bought at an estate sale for $2. And charts are usually more complicated than kits are- color blends, specialty stitches. I have never had difficulty with sorting threads for kits. Most of mine have been pre-sorted or have colors that are simple to sort. But, I have also looked at more simple designs because I would lose interest in a complicated design. On the other hand, there are so many more designs out there as a chart.. you are somewhat limited with kits.

As for my question... bring your lunch or buy it?

I like to eat out once in a while but most of the time I prefer to fix my own lunch as I know how I like it and how much of the condiments and other fixings. :D

Always surrounded by family! I rarely get any time alone.

Do you share a family car or have your own car?

I don't drive at all, but hubby does, so he has the car. :)

Monday is usually bad because I tend to get lazy on Friday-Saturday, being too tired after a whole week, then on Sunday I realize how much work I postponed to be done at the weekend, and by Sunday night I am usually very tired again. And usually go to bed too late. :( Also, I have a lot of lessons to teach on Monday (9), and choir practice which is good, but I get home at 9.30 pm.

Can you do several things at the same time (like reading and knitting, working on something and talking etc.) or do you have to concentrate on only one thing?

I am very good at doing more then one thing at a time except for reading. If I am reading I have to concetrate and need a quiet room. Oh and also my hockey games must watch them and nothing else it is just to quick and I would miss something if I was stitching. :D

We currently have live trees but that's because hubby has a massive opposition to fake ones. My parents have fake ones and there are some really great ones out there now with no needle drop, disposal or picking up issues to worry about. Personally, I'd be happy with a fake tree but since Christmas is hubby's absolute favourite time of year (he becomes like a little child again) I don't think I'll be getting one any time soon :D

What's your favourite Christmas food? (mine's christmas pudding with brandy butter mmmmmmmm)

Hmm I'd say the one I make sure to see every holiday is The Christmas Story. It's usually on for 24 hours straight on Christmas Eve.. so its easy to catch at some point. My all time favorite holiday movie though is a Year Without a Santa Claus. I  those claymation movies.

Do you prefer the city or the suburbs?

I live in a suburb, but I wish I lived in the city. But, for the houses I would be interested in, and in a good location, the city is out of my price range- even with the downturn in the market :( I am a single, 30 year old woman without children.. the city is where I should be.

Movies... do you want to laugh or cry?

train -- although I tend to think of both boats and trains as instruments to get you somewhere, rather than as a vacation in themselves :-)

If someone wanted to stitch something as a present for you, and money, time or anything else was no object, what would you ask them to stitch?

A beautiful silks & blingy needlecase, as it's unlikely I'll ever get to do one myself!
Well, not one I could be proud to show in public anyhow!
