Re: HAED - Chaperon of Light (Updated: 3/26/2011)
I'm halfway through page 2 on this one now. Still not much to look at as the sea of purple grows...@.@

I ordered a floor stand, and it arrived yesterday, so I thought I'd take a few pictures of my stitching corner now for anyone who's interested.

This is my entire stitching corner at a glance. You can see my new floor stand, my nice comfy recliner, and the little table I keep all my supplies on. Behind the floor stand is my LED light/magnifier. Since getting the floor stand, I can't really fit it right in front of me like I used to and still have room to flip the project around to the back. So I put it behind me, but now it's creating shadows. I'll have to keep messing with it to find the ideal location for it.
The floor stand is a Stitch-It Mantis. You can see it in more detail here. Of the stands I found online, this was the cheapest that would fulfill most of my needs. It doesn't have as much in the way of accessories as other brands, but that's okay. It did come with a pattern holder, but I'm not using it. I find it too high to really see the pattern well, so I'm just sticking my color list there while I'm working.
I like the floor stand quite a lot, but I think if I ever buy another one in the future, I'll look for a style that holds the project on both sides. I think it'll be sturdier with the larger projects I like to do.

A closeup of the project. It's mounted on 20 x 22 stretcher bars. You can't tell because I rotated it for the photo, but it's actually attached to the floor stand upside down. Because of its size, it took a long time for me to find a way I could still stitch on it comfortably. I finally conceded that I simply can't reach the top of the project normally, so I'll have to stitch the first couple of rows upside down. Once I get about halfway through, I should be able to flip it back around. I started to grid the whole thing with my fabric marker, but those lines are starting to fade now so I'm kind of glad I got bored and didn't finish.

And finally, this is my floss storage. I had all my bobbins in regular bobbin boxes, but it was getting annoying having to shift them around all the time to get at the color I needed. So when I found this box at Hobby Lobby, I knew it would be perfect. I currently have 14 colors in each drawer, but I can probably squeeze up to 16 if I really wanted to for more space, and I just love how convenient it is. For anyone who can't tell, that piece of fabric on top is my 8x8 Q Snap cover.
Also, I didn't take any pictures, but on the back of the table I stuck a couple of 3M hooks. I use them to hang rings of floss baggies for when I'm working on a kit that comes with its own thread.

Great progress!
You've done loads! ..and I love your new bobbin storage! I will have to take a look at our local craft stores for something like that...it looks convenient having it all in just one storage... Currently I have 3 box organizers for my DMC threads... I really would love to have it all in just one box
