Thank you :)

K1ns, the fabric is DMC impressions, I think I got it on sew and so but I've seen it in a few places so you should be able to get hold of it pretty easily :)

Great stitching. I'm desperate to know...will your sampler go in your sampler too?!! :?

It will! It will be the last entry of the year, before starting the next sampler for the next year :)

Wow, I had to search a bit to find this thread again!

I've been mostly focussing on the dinosaur height chart (now on hold) and the wedding sampler I'm doing for friends (now entering panic mode, only 8 weeks left) but I've kept a list of all my finishes and updated this tonight.

Just as a reminder, the last time you saw the list it looked like this
Image

Well, it now looks like this
Image

And these are a couple of the things on it - first, the mug, which was a birthday present -
Image
Image

Chart adapted from one published in CrossStitcher magazine, the original is just the right size for a coaster.

And the miniature box, which I bought on Saturday and stitched up today. Chart from a bargain box I picked up for £2, I think it was also published in CrossStitcher but I couldn't possibly say how long ago.
Image

I got the idea of using it for a tape measure from an antique tape measure I saw on ebay
Image
See - just the right size!

And here it is comfortably in place in my stitching workbox
Image

Of the other things on the list, I will be able to post a picture of Abi's maternity card - but it's at work doing the rounds at the moment and I'm on holiday this week - and the bookmark, when the exchange is complete. Skip is my godfather, who bought me $500 worth of shares in 1981. I cashed them in and paid off my mortgage with the £5000+ they were now worth, so the card was a cute little house design but it was more of a priority for me to send it off to him to let him know how much I appreciated the help he had given me than to take a picture of it first. (Kirsten, who also appears on the list and is due to give birth next month, is his step-daughter). The cancer research card will obviously be included in the picture of all the charity cards which will be donated to cancer research for them to sell to raise money tomorrow. The keyrings were for our very own kerbear to sell to raise a bit of cash to help toward her partner's medical bills, so once again it was more of a priority to me to get them in the post on their way to her than to take pictures. They were pretty simple.

Annkor, the mug was from Wimblebees in their closing down sale - but I'm sure other places will stock it or things like it. The design was stitch on vinylweave, which was easier to get in to place than normal fabric would have been!

Smiley, please steal away! I love it because it means that although I do very little stitching for myself (only two projects on page 2 are things I've kept!) I can look back and have a little ego-boost of "hey look at what I did!"

The chart for "four letter words" was one I bought from http://www.cross-stitching.com" target="_blank. For £3 you get six kitchen and bathroom charts, and because it's an instant download there's no waiting :)

:D Thank you!!! :D and yes I agree!! It's good to have your sampler at least, now you can remember what you did when for who and reflect back on the joys of stitching and your wonderful work, even if they have new homes!! :D

I have given many of my work away (basically all - especially since for the past three years i've been out of action due to impaired vision so was giving, but not replacing) I am considering starting to keep some more regularly though :D

Another finish, that I'm really happy with. Only the second time I've used soluble canvas, and the first time I've done the backstitch completely freehand. I finished the cross stitches, washed out the canvas, then did the backstitch...it wasn't easy! The running stitch water drops were charted as solid backstitch in pale grey but I decided the two colours of blue blended together would look nicer, and I definitely prefer the water drops look done as running stitch. I was considering doing it as a series of french knots but decided that would drive me crazy (french knots are not my favourite things in the world) and probably wouldn't show up well on the fleecy fabric of the blanket.

It's for a colleague at work who is pregnant, leaving us in 3 weeks, and doing the nursery out in all Winnie the Pooh themes as much as she can. I've organised her leaving collection and got her a couple of Pooh bits but they tend to be more expensive and she's not a very practical person so the emphasis has been on getting her more stuff that she needs (blankets, bottles, towels, we're even buying her some nappies) rather than prettier bits! I had the blanket already but it's never been used, I bought it intending to use it as a throw in the lounge but it turned out to be a slightly different shade of blue from the cushions I'd hoped it would complement.
