Yeah I can stitch. Got a new chart. A Sue Hillis design called the Carpenter's Apron. I am stitching it for my brother who has taken up carpentry as a hobby. I also get some hand dyed 14 count in blue to stitch it on.. And yes, another bellpull. They are so much easier to ship than framed work And cheaper too..
I am still waiting for that darn baby to decide to be born.. First great nephew was 3 weeks early, this one is really taking his time

Oooooooooh what beautiful threads!!

I know you are going to have so much fun stitching with them.
My postie brought me WOCS issue 181 with the adorable Margaret Sherry freebie kit! Love this issue, as there are quite a few projects and ideas that I know I will be using!

Amanda, is that for the Chatelaine "Butterfly Lace?" Am I right in thinking that's the one you're doing? I just got an update this morning about the final, or near to final, design of it and it's so beautiful I can't hardly stand it! I can't take it anymore!

I only have so much resistance! Everyday it's just one gorgeous thing after another.

I wish - I saw the final update today too - oh my goodness! Can't wait to get my hands on the materials list for that when it comes out in November! I also really want to stitch Evening in the Park - am undecided which to start first, so I'm (not very patiently!) waiting for Butterfly Lace to be relased. To keep me quiet in the meantime this little stash pile is for a freebie mini Chatelaine - Springtime Roses.

My waterlilies arrived today, and they are beautiful. After seeing them in RL I've decided to go with Quick Silver for the TOS, but I'm sure I'll find some use for Oyster as well :0) Thank you so much for suggesting them Mabel, Quick Silver was exactly right, now I can finally get on with TOS.
I had another package as well, but apparently it was to large for my letter box so I'm having it redelivered fro Friday. Can't wait, it's (most likely) a large cuts grab bag from Polstitches which I got in their sale last week and I'm really exited to see which colors are in there

Got my large cuts grab bag from Polstitches today, love their sales

5 lovely pieces of fabric, and they are all really quite big. I'm sure I'll find good uses for them

Couldn't get a great picture though, the light today is a bit dodgy.

Gorgeous fabric Xandra - gotta love Polstitches grab bags! It's always fun to try and 'name' the fabric from the website! Have you got any plans for these yet?

A lot of pretty stash!
Not posting pics of my latest postman stash but I received a large piece of ivory 25ct lugana for a new HAED, as well as more DMC for my slowly growing collection. I now have 112 of the DMC colors (only started collecting DMC a few months ago, it was all anchor before then), and hope to add some more till year's end.

My first silk threads came last week, but I thought I would wait until most everything else showed up.
First of course, Laverne had to inspect all the new things and approve.
Here they are. Don't look like much, but two afghans One is for my Dragon afghan which I am "thinking" seriously about. and now there is a Bingo to help me. YEAH! And the second I hope to be able to do some of Mabel's Hardanger designs on. I am going to get some 18ct aida plain fabrics to practice on before I do any cutting on this one. But the worst that will happen is it won't work and I will have to figure out something else.
The other thing which came is my qsnap cover. I mostly wanted it to help keep the extra fabric out of my way and clean, but it is almost seeiming cumbersome. Still, its pretty and will help some

.
Now I am waiting on the book I ordered (Hardanger book).

I hope Laverne approved! After all, she knows what's what!
After one stitches an afghan, does one line it so the back of the stitches don't show?

I don't line anything. I think I have posted somewhere sometime the backs of my Afghans. I just try to be careful about how I weave threads through so that it looks neat. (Not like when I am stitching something for a frame).
this is the back of the angel afghan"

this is the front:

better photo of the back. Actually, most of the time I have them displayed with the backs up because of the cat hair. I turn them over when company comes!
