It's been a good mail day for me today - three packages arrived all at once!

I got a spool of Krenik BF in Aztec gold - I was christmas shopping on amazon and needed to spend 3 more dollars to qualify for free shipping, so rather than pay for shipping, I added a spool of the Krenik. I figure it will come in handy for adding sparkle to the ornaments I plan on stitching. Also in the package were 2 christmas presents - a blu ray of the movie 42 for my baseball obsessed friend, and some very strange japanese candy for his japan obsessed son.

Then in non-stitchy goodies, I got a bar of maple bacon chocolate. Again, added to a christmas shopping order to reach the minimum for free shipping. (I swear I'm saving money by buying these things.. I would have to pay for shipping otherwise!) I love bacon and chocolate together, and hadn't tried this brand yet, so it found it's way into my cart somehow! Also in that package was a whole popcorn assortment for my roommate who loves popcorn as a late night snack. I got some red kernels and some black ones, as well as popcorn on the cob and some of her favorite popcorn seasoning.

Also, I got a case for my new Nexus 7 tablet - thank goodness because I've been using a thick piece of fleece folded in half and with seams sewn down both sides for the last month, and boy is that UGLY. But I'm very particular about how my cases look and feel on my tablet so it took me a while to find just the right one at the right price.

That said, with the packages I got in the mail today I am now officially DONE with christmas shopping! I have to finish up a couple more ornaments, and then wrap everything, and 2 days before Christmas, bake up a batch of brownies. Other than that my responsibilities for the holiday season are over and I can just enjoy!

My husband has been out of town a lot working, so I volunteered to buy a couple of my own presents. I found a new (to me) designer, and I fell in love with this one:

Oh yeah! I got a parcel from the Crafty Kitten......the pinky fabby was only available as a Facebook special and the blue one is a second but honestly I can see nothing wrong with it at all. The Valdani threads are from sew and so but I'm thinking of stitching the chart shown on the pink/purple fabby in them. I have never seen a variegated black before so I just had to buy them to have a try :D

"when what to my wondering eyes did appear?"
an envelope that said "Royal Mail" (clearly not the USPO) with these absolutely beautiful skeins of Caron Watercolour threads.

The note was from Mabel and I can't wait to use them. I still have 3 SoW months to do and though I had been keeping the seasons the same colors that was only because I started with DMC pearls. Now I have too many choices so Oct, Nov and December will likely be different.

Thank you Mabel!! They are gorgeous

wishing I was as clever as Jo so I could have made this a little "Night before Christmas lyric"

I received an evelop today! From our lovely member Stitchinkitty. In it was a "book" with only Vera Mouse charts. 2 big ones, and 2 small ones! I love it! This brings back so much memories of my grandmother. I will cherish this forever. Thanks so much Stitchinkitty for this wonderfull gift you send me!

A week or so ago, my floor stand finally gave out on me (it was very old!). I bought another at Michaels (yay for 50% coupons) and it works just fine, but I had also been eyeing some of the stands I read about here. Most of them were more than I wanted to spend at this point in time (just made a final payment for an upcoming cruise), so I got the Stitchmaster. I think I'm going to love it. I ordered it Sunday, it shipped Monday, and I got it today, from the UK! Five days from the UK to Colorado? Yes! It took six days for a priority mail package to get here from California. Crazy.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love it! It's so easy just flip my piece over to start/end on the back, and the little arms hold my scroll frame so nicely. I'm so glad I bit the bullet and ordered it. Happy happy happy!

These came over the course of a few days.

The Woodland series will go with my Woodland Autumn (Stashmas gift from frenchiejo).

The little hearts are a discontinued set from Victoria Sampler, and I'm trying to get the hearts for the states that I have been to, and where my kids have been stationed. All I'm missing is, of all things, Colorado. I had it at one point and now can't find it...darn!

The Weave Kindness is part of a series from Stoney Creek; the letters will spell out welcome. I have all seven charts, but only show the one. The other two charts were free from Stoney Creek, which I thought was just too good to pass up, right?

Today my plan is to go through my stash and kit up what I can and determine what, if any, fabrics I need.
