I've snipped a kloster block in the past, and it's not difficult to repair. Just needs a steady hand: Unpicking can be a bit tricky, and when you restitch, don't pull at all -- this will help the stitches lie flat and look like those around about.

Yay, Fruit has been saved :D

Serinde, you're quite right, it was not as difficult as I thought -- I've put a little report on FoF about it, also about why I think it happened.

After I'd repaired the Kloster blocks and tucked in all the cut ends I had another go at the Treasure Braid stiches. I'd done some in White Pearl, now I also did a few in dull gold and two in silver. After all that, I think I do prefer the first one I did after all  -- the gold is too strong compared to the words, the silver seems too cold. The white pearl is subtle, perhaps a bit too subtle, but I think I'll stick with that nonetheless, as it is really meant as a sort of "background decoration", not too noticeable. What do you think?

I had to  at your FOF post where you mentioned using words that a little more drastic than necessary. I'm so glad you got things working out.. You are the Hardanger miracle worker Mabel!

:applesauce: Looks fantastic. I don't think anyone but you will ever know (except us of course, but that is because you told us).

I personally like the silver stitches but that is just a personal preferance and the all have positive and negative. You just have to decide what you want the finish to project. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Very very pretty and well done for making your repair!! I like the white best but I do like the silver as well---it definitely works either way, or even with both--just more of the white than silver??

Well done on the repair :applesauce: :applesauce: Personally, I like the white best, but maybe as karen suggests a bit of a mix with a few silver to give an added sparkle?

The gold picks up the yellow in the thread.

Maybe you could use all three??? Kind of dot them around?

If not, I really like the silver and white the best :)

It's all pure genius!!! :applesauce:

 for saving the Kloster block!

For the PTB, I do like the look of the white pearlescent, and the silver adds something too, but I'm not fussy on the gold. Perhaps if you're doing scatterings of multiple stitches, have most be white, but some silver? It looks great.

I like the silver and gold stars, and the white pearl not as much.

I'm also curious what it would look like with the above comment about mixing them up a bit.

Hard decisions!

BTW, it looks beautiful!

Thanks for all your comments, they give me a lot to think about! Because both the perle threads and the stranded silk are variegated, I don't want to have too much variation in the Treasure Braid, I think it might be a bit too much. I may mix the white and silver, as some here suggested, because they are both quite subtle. I  the gold, it's one of my favourite Treasure Braids and I use it a lot, but I think it's a bit too strong for this particular design.
Thanks again for your input!

Made me smile that the 'Love Joy Peace and Patience was in the same 'post' as the repair of the Kloster block!

Well done! I'm glad that your repair went so well...and, yes those little 'fluffy'ends do disappear...as if by magic!

BTW....
Love those metallic threads!

Not much stitching today, but have drawn 10 new stitch diagrams and written the instructions   most of them for the Song of the Weather SAL

Finally another finish

I've not stitched both versions (the other one says "A stitch in time saves my sanity" and will be in orangy autumnal sort of colours) but I think this one gives a good enough idea, so Housework is now up on the site -- and here it is in a slightly larger picture, all done with standard perles (well, Anchor variegated is pretty standard, right :-)?)

Beautiful Mabel - such a true statement (though I'm one of the weird ones that has to do all the housework before I sit and stitch but still :ratherbe: !) - it has gone on my wishlist, though I expect I would tweak the colours to purple, but that is what I love about your designs, the possibilities are endless!
