Well, I know the backstitch took a while, but it's finally done! I can't do french knots, , but I've done little stitches instead, so I hope the effect is the same!

You'll know if you've read the beginning of this thread that I've stitched this one in memory of my three lovely ratties who sadly passed away this year. So this is for Buttons, Marlene and Boycie, the three bestest and most wonderful ratties ever. I miss them all, they will always be much loved and fondly remembered.

This will get properly framed, hopefully sooner rather than later, and I'll post when it's done. But in the meantime, here's to my girls :toast:

Oh that's lovely! I actually added this one to my wishlist yesterday.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had 4 pet rats myself a few years ago but turned out to be horribly allergic to them and ended up having to rehome them  It got to the point where my face would start to go puffy if I spent time in the same room as them and I'd break out in hives if they touched me. They were absolutely fantastic pets though, mine were more obedient than my dog  My hubby has to drag me away from them when we go to a Pets at Home that sells them.

Oh, now that I've wittered on on your thread, here you go http://www.rattans-designs.co.uk/" target="_blank They have some rat cross stitch on there. There are a couple of nice ones if you scroll down and click "more designs".

Congratulations on a very cute finish! :applesauce: I've also used little stitches instead of french knots at times. You did a fantastic job on this!!

This is a great honor to your furry firends. The design looks wonderful! I think your small stitched did just as well as french knots could have!

:applesauce: :applesauce: Beautiful finish!!! I don't think the missing french knots show up at all.

I'm going to have the same issue with my christmas village...there are christmas balls and lights that are french knots; first I'm going to try to learn how to do them from the tutorial and see what happens. If that doesn't work out, I don't know what I'll do...I don't think beads (which for me would be the preference to french knots) are going to work on this particular design.

Good luck learning french knots - I'm going to try again with them at some point, luckily none of my current WIPs have any, as far as I know... it would be nice to get the hang of them though!

 :applesauce: Congrats on a most adorable finish!! Totally cute as can be. The backstitching looks quite bothersome, loads of it in fact, but the end result is so very nice!!! :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:
