. I'm impatiently waiting for the framer to do her thing: I was (for once) pretty clear about the 'look' I wanted & I want to see if I got it right!!
Anyway, stitching abhors a vacuum as we all know, so now Tiger's gone, I need a new project to fill the void, so have started on my first Chatelaine project. In at the deep end with a year-long mystery, the Christmas Mystery 2011. The wonderful
European Cross Stitch kitted it up for me (at vast expense!! If ever there was a reason to NOT let this become a UFO ...). It's chock-full of hand dyed silks, perles, metallics, beads & bling, on 32ct Belfast in antique white (I think):
Part 1 is just the outer border. Here's my modest progress to date:
& a corner close up,
It feels weird not to have a photo of the finished project to refer back to, & I feel quite brave spending (what will be) a lot of time in faith that I will like the finished picture, but it's intricate & challenging, & a joy to be working with such fabulous materials.
While I am at it, here's a Gingerbread Cottage update. I've done quite a bit. I love this one! It's such fun. What the photo doesn't show is the bling woven into pretty much all the threads except the 'logs' of the cottage. The 'tree' is particularly good.
