Here's the update on Christmas Ball. Quite a few of the silver swirl fillers have been done. I won't be doing all the bits and bobs that its charted for- looks too busy for me. But I do have the two large swirls near the top and then the silver area yet to fill. I've looked for a charm of some sort for the silver area and haven't found one. (but I've only looked once) My mom suggested I fill the two swirls with a smaller shadow swirl instead of another diamond/ circle/ star. I also have the little bits of beading to add.
I am thinking of leaving off one of the ribbons too- the top one that goes off to the left. It adds quite a bit of height and I think it throws the whole design off center.
I could never stitch for a designer- I make so many changes!

This looks gorgeous with the sparkle, and your planned adaptations sound really interesting (especially the "shadow swirls")

I totally agree with Mabel--can't wait to see your next update. I also think your changes are spot on, especially eliminating the top ribbon, no need at all for that

Oh it's looking gorgeous :applesauce:
I don't think it needs that top ribbon either. And the silver is just lovely.

Well, shes all finished and ready for the framer tomorrow. This one is going to the Fair and needs to be turned in for judging on Aug 14. Yikes.. less than a month!
I couldn't find a snowflake charm I really liked so went with the diamond instead.

Now.. thoughts on mattes and framing. Because of the beading, I know I'll have to do a double matte. Had thought about silver under white.. but then what color frame?
Or white matte under a red matte with a silver frame? The right shade of red might be hard to find. Double white matte with either red or silver frame?

fantastic finish!!! I love it!! You did a fantastic job on it and it makes me want to stitch one up now   congrats on your finish. As for the framing, hmmmmm I would expect double white matting with a silver frame would look good, of course depending on the frame, or even a red frame, again, depending on what you can find that will look right with the red fabric. Hope you sort it out soon--it's fantastic
