Thank you! Positive comments are always so encouraging! :D

Today it's little dragon's turn:

Image

Only some black backstitching and his flame to do. I altered that leg on the right again. Frogged it out. All of it. I had tried to keep the designers stitches as much as possible and modified it a bit, but I still didn't like it. The present foot has none of the original design in it at all, it's all mine, and I think it looks much better. In future incarnations of the design I may mod it a bit more, but I'm ok with it as it is now. What do you think?

It's photographed in natural light cos the flash made the gold just look like yellow thread. Meh. The tail should have had black 'claw' projections on it, like the feet, but I made 'em into little gold tufty bits to make sure you could see it as a tail not some strange misplaced foot!

He really is coming along fantastically! I love the change you made to his foot--now it looks like it belongs there and his tail looks great!!!

:applesauce: Great changes. He looks like a real dragon now. I love the colors. The gold really gives him a dramatic flair. :applesauce:

He's really coming alive now, and his foot looks much better. Well Done! You were right to do tufts on his tail. It differentiates it from the feet. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Thank you all! People here are so lovely!

Haven't had time to do any stitching at all today. :(
On the other hand, I have taken White Lightning and my mom's other (badly maltreated) tapestry to the framers; I have been to my Tai Chi Class; I have visited a friend who has been ill and is still not feeling great, but now up to visitors; both my cats have been able to spend time on my lap (normally I am stitching, so they can't); and I have finished Alexander McCall Smith's book 'Corduroy Mansions'. Furthermore I have received my third lot of threads for my HAED 'Birds on a Wire'. Only another 25 colours to go, and I can start!

Here is the completed little dragon - he now has his flame :)

Image

And... um... here is another one - not quite complete - I have 3 white stitches to fill in his flame (I forgot 'em!)

It is actually darker than this - look (though this makes the colours look dull and they are NOT):

but you can't see him properly here. In RL he looks fabulous!

This one is for my oldest grandson (27) who was here yesterday while I was completing the emerald/blue one, and he was very admiring - so I asked if he would like one, too. He said "Oh! Yes! I would actually! Can you make mine red?" So I did.

These little guys are really addictive. They are small, very straightforward to stitch, and remarkably pretty - imo, anyway! I am quite sure I will be making more of 'em! (I'm planning a black on on red fabric, and also a deep purple on green...!)But I have to get back to my ToS!

:applesauce: your dragons are such great little flame shooters. I love the colors you have done them in. I think they must be fun to do and what a great feeling of being able to finish them in a reasonable time.

Yes, they are! :D I also think they will be perfect to do as a rest when stitching large projects like HAEDs, or projects with a lot of muted colours. :)
