I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go for 28 ct Belfast Linen for my fabric. Now that I love love love stitching on my LK (will post update on that later today now I"m home) which is the linen (why was I scared of it??) and still need to decide on overdyed thread (love it too - this is really dangerous now) vs DMC in my stash. Will be at the LNS this Sat for the stitching group (I hope) and will pick it out then since she is very good at helping choose fabric and colors. I am looking forward to this. I decided I didn't care that much this time about the design as I really want to learn the new stitches.

Can't stop thinking about this one. Have decided will use DMCs for the greens - mainly because of the amount of one green needed and the cost of doing that in overdyed  However, think will splash out on overdyed for the florals. Just need to decide what sort of colours I prefer. I only change my mind every day

Have ordered mine too, though the need for new spectacles, a new suit and attempting to move house means stash money is now very short so don't think will be starting it any time soon :(

Just got the newsletter last night and will be downloading it today. Have to wait though since I don't have my fabric yet. Which is probably a good thing since I bet I would have started right up and tossed everything aside. I decided to do this one with DMC as it is not a small piece and WDW would be pricey I think, though I'm thinking that one of the greens and at least one of the florals might work well using the variegated thread. I also decided to wait until today since she did say that the website might be slow after the newsletter comes out. I am excited though to get it and maybe practice some new stitches before I actually get started.

Can't wait to see everyone's chosen materials. If I had a little more to spend I would have gone with a different colour fabric. Although I really want to finish my HAED before I start, so I am planning to just hem the fabric tonight and put it away for a few weeks.....
For those planning a much later start, it is a very long SAL so we will still all be doing it together :D

I just downloaded the chart after trying to figure out where it went (I have 2 email addressess and it went to the address that Paypal had, not the one my newsletter goes to which is what I use for most things now that are not "business". Couldn't figure it out. But now I have it and only need to wait for my fabric to get here and then decide on the colors. I have a question however. The chart shows the centre of the design. Is that for the whole design? That is what I am thinking. I'm so used to HAED charts now or smaller charts that I start in the middle, that I need to make sure before I start.
I think I will be practicing the stitches though on some leftover fabric. This is going to be fun!

I'm guessing it is the middle for the whole design Carole.

I was brave and opted for the special stitches version!!! And now I'm scared so just warning you that I may have lots of questions as this progresses!!!

I did the special stitches version also. I loved doing TOS before even though I weirded out in the beginning. I know I am going to have a lot of questions too. But there are quite a few of us I think so we ought to be able to figure it out. And several who have done lots of specialty stitches. I'm excited.

I think I will be watching this one from the sidelines for now - too many other projects that I am desperate to stitch! That of course won't stop me from downloading the parts and following along with all your progress, looking forward to some WIPs soon......... :D

Chances are that for now I'll join Amanda on the sidelines cheering you on. I'm currently working on 4 very large projects, including 2 HAEDs. When my Belles-Lettres D is completed, I plan to start a Golden Kite design, and I have one more HAED I want to add this year when the Berlin Work Sampler is done.

Keeping 4 BAPs in my rotation is probably enough. If I add anything else, it really should be one of my UFOs.

I've been keeping my eye out for the first part of this project but I think I'll be watching from the sidelines as well- at least for a while.
I like the idea of learning specialty stitches from around the world.. but I do not like designs with hearts. So I'll see how this one progresses to figure out if I can change the heart shape into something else. This is why I don't like stitchy mysteries- I am picky in what I will work on.
Have fun ladies- I look forward to seeing your choices of thread and fabric.

I've downloaded it too. It's very pretty, isn't it :)

Oddly enough the last of my threads for it arrived today too so I'm all set to go. Now that I've seen it though I may change one of my blues for the gold that's in the overdyed pink/gold I'm using. Think it'll have to be a DMC though. I've spent way too much on it as it is

This is what I've got at the moment until I change that blue. (if I do)

I'm a bit worried that the beads look too similar. They looked more different in the pics on the website. I'll have to think about that one.

Lovely colour choices. One lot of beads do look lighter than the others to me,one's more a metallic blue on my lap top. They are both very pretty. Look forward to seeing your final choice.
