I would bs it because it will really make it sharper and finer. But like Rose (who also hates beads) I have never minded backstitching. It looks lovely as is if you decide to keep it like that.

It is so beautiful and after looking closely at the chart pic and your work I would just bs the leaves - particularly the ones in 'front'

So sorry your car was vandalised in that way and do hope you can get it fixed really quickly. Little so and so's aren't they with nothing better to do. Maybe someone should teach them to stitch !

That is gorgeous!! How beautiful. :applesauce: Either way would look fantastic, but if it will be framed and displayed somewhere high up, it might be better to have backstitch to really bring out the design. If it was going to be a pillow or something up close I'd say you wouldn't have to backstitch.

I'll definitely agree with tiffstitch. I always wonder if I can get by without doing the backstitching, and nearly always end up doing it!!! At any rate, it looks amazing, no matter how you handle the backstitching!!

I looks lovely now it's finished. :applesauce: :applesauce:

I'd try a bit of backstitich in one area...you can always pull it out...and see how it looks! I wouldn't use a too dark a thread though.

Well done for persevering! :stars:

Thanks for the ideas, I think il do the leaves and then decide further. The colours they have given are quite dark so i may dip into my stash and change them. Theres no rush on this now as my mum doesnt know where she wants to put it she just wanted to see me progress on it because I had been concentrating on stuff for other people and it annoyed her haha  shes away for a week so i may pick this back up when she is back as it cant be finished and framed for her coming home, the framer takes 2 weeks. Something newww from the stash woohoo

The rose cuttings are beautiful; I'd be tempted to leave them as they are, they are so delicate!

This is beautiful work. :thinks: not sure if I think it would look better with BS or not as I agree it looks beautiful in a delicate state but sharper detail would also look good.

:applesauce: Really, really gorgeous. I like it without the back stitch, the flowers look so natural.
I stitched a rose a while ago and after a lot of deliberation I did not do the back stitch because the petals were well defined by the darker colours at their edge.( I did back stitch the fairy sitting inn the petals, but changed the floss to a pink colour instead of mid brown) I see the piece every day and am still happy with my choice.
I think maybe the suggestion that you try a little back stitch is a good one if you are undecided and try various colours too it makes all the difference. Whatever you decide, it is a gorgeous piece of work. Congratulations.

Hello everyone, no picture im afraid just a little update!
A HUGE thanks to all of you :applesauce: you really did keep me going on this one, after reading everyones input on the BS I have decided not to do this.
Thanks for your views.
I took the roses to the framers yesterday and he has picked lovely colours which really bring out the darker shading so after a long chat with him and many different trials we decided that I was going to leave it to get framed and not take it back home for BS. I get it back on Saturday and Ill get a final Pic for you :)

Wise girl....often once it's mounted and framed then the solution comes to you!
You've had the option of making your mind up BEFORE the final stage! :applesauce: :applesauce:
