Thanks!

You should give it a try sometime, Vanessa. I've seen a few blackwork patterns in various magazines lately, and there's lots of free patterns online as well.

Though, I have to admit, I haven't been too fussed with how the back looks because it won't be visible when framed. There are sections where I managed it pretty well, but I haven't gotten really good at planning my journeys to accomplish the holbein stitch with this as it's only my second over 2 on 28 ct piece. I'm trying to avoid visits by Mr :anotherfrog:, but he's found me a few times anyway.

Thanks ladies. I'm almost finished with the flowers on the vines, and the skirt is all backstitched now. I'm really pleased with how things are turning out with the color changes. I honestly can't wait to see all the beads on it either. But I want to save that for last so I can do them all in one go.

He certainly does, Carole! :) Now he's passed out on the couch next to me. Guess all that helping wore him out.

:applesauce: Love the update. This is really lovely. And good thing you have a bday party to go to so that Simba can get his rest.

Looks great! Really good work on the stitching - it doesn't look easy.

Glad to hear you're giving Simba a rest

I'm sure he's getting plenty of rest.

It's no more difficult than back stitching.

Thanks. I haven't been keeping a close eye on the time it is taking to stitch it, but based on the audiobooks I've listened to while doing it... around 22 hours. The magazine's projected stitch time was 50 hours, so I think I'm going to be able to accomplish it in a similar amount of time.

I was busy as a bee and managed to get quite a lot done. Though I still have a lot of backstitch to do after I finish the filling in of the umbrella. And the butterfly. Then all that remains are the borders and beading.

 It's looking gorgeous!!! And I love how the hoop compliments it wonderfully! You could leave it in that instead of framing
