5/10 now that I've finally caught up. These are some brilliant photos Liz, and great info. Cornwall sounds like a must-see if I ever get across the pond.

Next instalment
Number 23 ~ Coverack
Coverack is a small fishing village. It is memorable for me because it was the place we went to for the first proper family holiday when I was about 9 and I lived in Kent at the time and had never seen coast anything like it before. The most amazing thing for me at the age was the road into the village which is the steepest bit of road I had ever seen (or still ever seen since)
It is on the south side of the Lizard peninsula and has a lovely crescent shaped beach and is a popular venue for water sports and has a little harbour as well

Number 16 ~ Minnack
The Minack theatre is an open-air theatre, constructed above a gully with a rocky granite outcrop jutting into the sea (minack from Cornish meynek means a stony or rocky place).
Unbelievavbly it was mainly the handiwork of one lady ,Miss Cade and her gardener who made a terrace and rough seating, hauling materials down from the house or up via the winding path from the beach below. In 1932, The Tempest was performed with the sea as a dramatic backdrop, to great success. Miss Cade resolved to improve the theatre, working over the course of the winter months each year throughout her life so that others might perform each summer.
Nowadays, the theatre is used from June to September for a full summer season of 17 plays, produced by companies from all over the UK and visiting companies from the USA. The theatre is open for visitors throughout the rest of the year.
It is a difficult place to describe and is amazing in itself but that it is the work of this one lady is incredible.

Looking up from the sage area.

Looking down at the stage.

My boys doing their thespian bit!

View from the cafe, just because it is stunning. Apparently you can often see dolphins from here.

6/10 with Coverack.
Seriously, whenever I have the funds/time to go on vacation, my vote is for Cornwall. Just have to convince the husband. Shouldn't be too hard if I just show him all of these pictures!

Me too Carole. I'm hoping that we might go one day. It is just a matter of luck with the weather. On a day like to day it would be glorious but on another typically english summer day it could be horrendous. It is not shetered as it is on the headland and there is no cover anywhere even so it gets very booked up. One day!

4/10 with the Minack! When I was at junior school we used to go there every year to see something for one of our school trips. One year the weather was so bad the theatre company held the performance in a nearby leisure centre! I've been to see a few things since as an adult and as long as the weather is nice (even if the performances/production is a bit dodgy) the views are outstanding and you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of some seals!

You're very lucky Amanda, although as a school child it possibly wasn't quite so thrilling. Will definitely keep an eye out for something to go and see.

Love all the pics and information Lizz. What an amazing area of the UK it is.
I got both today so now 7/10. Had to choose Minack as many years ago I read a few books about a daffodil farm just inland from there and loved them. Can neither remember the name of the books or the author sadly.
