That lap looks great & Nicola how beautiful those freesias look. I want one but I don't need another kit. Wonder how long I can last out - as we all know, need does not come into it where cross stitch & other needlecrafts are concerned
Already have one kit DH has put away for my birthday later in the year. Same series as Wendy's Harold the hare but of a barn owl. DH noticed it in a magazine & asked me if I would like it for my birthday. Oh yes of course, I jumped in quick, no second thoughts
Because I just ordered two most adorable patterns. Spring Ring by Alicia Paulson and The Bee Keeper by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. They're both so cute and should be quite quick to stitch, too.
Definitely Stash, just a whole lot easier to keep. And to organize. And to not have Significant Others quite aware of how much stash you do have. Looking forward to seeing your progress on your new designs!

i AGREE I print off digital charts when Significant others aren't looking!!
Nice charts BTW...I'm going to have a look at those sites!
Jap Wendy, I just discovered them a few days ago and I was hooked! I certainly could buy even more charts but first waiting for my missing threads to be delivered, and then trying to finish one or more of my 4! WIPs before even thinking about starting anything new (who am I kidding?)
Carole, I think it's one of the perks not of being married or in a relationship yet, but it might not always be good?
But I do like the digital patterns! So easy to zoom in and out, even cross off finished parts.
Well, I had just finished the Hardanger Sampler and was on 123 Stitch (for some reason?) and doing some "window shopping" which is very dangerous on the internet. Did a search, only out of curiosity, to see what types of Hardanger samplers they might have. It just jumped into the cart. I don't remember doing anything to assist it. Emie Bishop's Pieces of my Heart Booklet. It is a "loving tribute to vintage needlework" Created to honor all that was created without modern lighting or magnification. Some of the samplers use vintage lace pieces. There is more than samplers, but the three samplers are

Pieces of My Heart
Don't know if I will ever stitch them, but I love them and who knows.....
Serinde, these patterns made me think of you and your lace making. Just a thought.

Do you think you would be able to ignore them Carole? I bet you start one soon as they look gorgeous. Must stay off 123stitch until I get back from 'holiday' - that won't be a holiday the first week as we rush around people and places to visit to see what remains of my lovely home city.
Looking forward to seeing you start one of them Carole - but oh which one to choose.

See that pincushion in the Teaching Sampler? That looks suspiciously like Ruskin lace! If part of the design includes supplying you with the lacey bits, go for it! They look lovely. Emie Bishop's designs aren't for the faint-hearted; she presumes a certain level of competence (which is why the one I fell in love with years ago remains unstarted...)
The instructions are very clear, this is not for beginners! I don't know that I will stitch them, but I do like looking at them. It's not a kit, so I don't think any lace is included. What I might try is something she does suggest which is to take rows from the different samplers and make your own. That way I could do the rows that I can figure out how to stitch (though the directions seem pretty clear) and leave the rest for a different time. But that is a ways off. I would think that you have enough experience to work on the design you have. I would certainly love to see you stitch it. (hint?

I was naughty and bought some things when sewandso had a sale...just doing my part to help England's economy. I've been wanting to do one of the cute Gorjuss designs, and I love the seasonal designs by Derwentwater - and of course, I couldn't just get one season.
