Just caught up with those little trees.  I love the oversized beads. How many times do trees topple with more decorations than they need??
The Penguin is great! I think you were right to change the fabric to that blue 'cloud' It looks more like snow than the plain white. :applesauce: :applesauce:

In my experience trees topple with out of balance kitten(s) rather than decorations. If two go up, one on either side, the tree stays standing, though it rains ornaments. Guess how I know...
Yep, Floyd & Ozzie's first Christmas. We'd had kittens before, but only 1 at a time and were not prepared for the fact two kittens cause 4 times the chaos that one causes. It was bedlam when we put the tree up that year. Floyd would stand on his hind legs, look at us and bat a bauble on the tree, daring us to do anything. He didn't appreciate it when we got a water pistol out so he couldn't avoid our discipline by sheer speed or hiding somewhere inaccessible. It stopped him in the end, as he eventually realised even a Maine Coon's coat isn't impervious to a powerful jet of water.

Lovely execution of Amanda's design. The beaded one looks particularly good.

Regards,

Richard.

Not a huge fan of Christmas designs, but these are FANTASTIC! The oversized beads are a nice touch. :)

Kittens, cats and Christmas trees were not something I had to worry about. I usually have to worry about the little furballs knocking over the Hannukah candles... And honestly, that's the kitten's fault. Darth Kitty, on the other hand, is an angel.

Thank you Lovelies for all your replies.

Oh dear Richard, you are under the paw aren't you, although I'll bet you had a good aim with the water pistol.

Christmas Penguin is finished, well, all the cross-stitching and back-stitching, I haven't made him up yet.

I left off the French knots as I thought the marbled fabric is enough, ok, really, I think he waited until it stopped snowing to trudge through the snow to post his little card :D

Here he is hot off the frame

edited for typos and omitting French knots

Under the paw? As if...!
Well, maybe just a little.

Lovely finish though. You must be pleased with it.

I agree about the decision regarding the French knots. The fabric is pretty and nothing should deter from your oh so cute penguin.
I love him, he is colourful and would brighten any day. The personalized envelope is a nice touch too. :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I'm still waiting for some blue ribbon to arrive to finish the Penguin. He is all made up, he just need the ribbon to be able to hang up. I'll post a photo when it's done

I have (hopefully) finished all my Christmas stitching now.

I was lucky enough to be given a large bag of Anchor Pearl Cotton No8 and I searched for a chart online to make a card for the lady who gave them to me and while I was searching up popped this, by our very own Mabel, I changed the colours and used my over-sized beads and I think it's turned out ok
Image

This one was from the design pages from WOXS, I changed the colours, it's for a friend who likes Angels

Another cutie

This one is for a religious friend and is a Joan Elliott design made into a hanging ornament
Image

This one is a Lesley Teare design, I left the border off as I am getting fed up of Christmas Stitching now.

I think I will have to learn how to harden up a bit so I don't end making so many next year, any tips would be greatly appreciated, as I feel guilty if I do not stitch something for people who say they would like one.
