It was between the Stash & Grab and St Cross Stitcher's, but the Stash & Grab won - I'm just back from the dentist who, besides giving my teeth a thorough clean and polish, also drilled out an old filling, cleaned the whole lot up and put in a new one. Very necessary, and she's very good, I didn't feel a thing, but I'm petrified of the dentist ever since bad experiences as a child, so I need a restorative now!

I'm here having a bit of brunch. The cinnamon rolls are especially tender and fragrant. (I've had my porridge, thanks.)

It's nice to be here, and away from the news.

I'm sitting here too, putting my feet up and also enjoying a cinnamon roll with an Extra Strong coffee to settle my nerves! :tizzy:

A couple of days ago whilst just about to sign off my computer I had the Most Awful page come up! It was hiding behind a page that I had open.

A shocking and disgusting page of photos. I won't go into details but it really upset me.
I quickly closed that page and turned off my computer. Of course I realise that having inadvertently opened that page my computer was at risk.

Yesterday D/H   changed settings and my browser so I'm hoping that we won't have another nasty surprise.

Now I have to reset passwords etc, but it does give me the chance to 'prune' out some of the sites no longer in use.

Delicious Buns BTW :cake:

I hope you ladies don't mind my joining you. Tea and cinnamon rolls sounds delightful. Last night I got a text that my 9 month old Great Ganddaughter's stroller broke and she fell onto the pavement. It was clear her foot was scratched up and she had a bruise on her forehead. Off to the ER. What's great is that our Medical University hospital has a Children's hospital and pediatric ER. After a variety of x-rays and an MRI to make sure there was no damage to her brain from the head bump, and there wasn't, the diagnosis is a fractured foot. Just when she has started walking and would rather walk than anything else. Big cast on her leg and foot to make sure she doesn't. Will also impede crawling I'm sure. I'm not sure if the next few days (or more) will be harder on the parents than on my GGD.

Serinde, I spend a lot of time avoiding the news.
Wendy, that is creepy. I hope you never have that happen again.

Poor GGD! I hope the foot heals quickly. At that age I think the body is still wonderfully resilient and mends itself much more quickly than when you get to, erm, more mature years.... :-)
Wendy, that must have been so alarming (quite apart fromt he fact that it is very diffcult to "unsee" nasty things :-( ) Glad to hear it's been sorted and it's given you the opportunity for a clear-out.
Serinde, I am staying away fromt he news at the moment so that I don't inadvertently hear the skating results before having seen them on Dutch catch-up telly :) But that way I also miss all the worrying stuff that I can't do a thing about anyway. Roll on the cinnamon rolls!

There used to be a craft group at our library which had to close because of the pandemic, but the lady who ran it didn't want to start it up again when things started opening up again. As we now have our beautiful new church building I thought I could plug the gap! So I have just put my "advertisement" on our village's Facebook group - let's hope it prospers!

:whoop: that sounds fun! Will you be running it?
I am enjoying our local craft group. It was in the village Kirk... but it was cold and gloomy so now we are in the village hall of a village 3 miles away. Much brighter and wth 'facilities' plus tea/coffee. Can't walk there though  . Well I guess I could but not in winter

You had me at cake. :-) I would be there if I lived in the area. Alas, I’m across the pond.

Yes, I'm running it, and lovely fellow church members who are better bakers than I will be providing cakes :-)
We'll have a nice big room with floor to ceiling windows and a kitchenette and facilities nearby.

I was hoping the cake would be a big draw :-) . If you're ever in the UK on the third Friday of the month, you're very welcome to drop in!

Good Luck Mabel,

Our come and sew charges £2 for 2 hours and we bring along our own biscuits/cakes... you could describe it as a bit of a competition as to who can bring along the best goodies to share :D .

Chamomile tea is steeping. Anyone want to share a cuppa?

I need one after this morning. Had to get some tests done that were due shortly before the world stopped turning. The bone density is easy enough…but the other is a bit uncomfy.   But all done for another 5 years or so.

Glad that's done for another 5 years! I'm not really a chamomile tea drinker, but I'll join you with a mug of builder's :-)

That's very good value, and a nice added bit of Baking Craft :-). At first I intended to keep the cost lower, but the room rent (which we sorely need what with having built this lovely space and paying off loans....) is £10 per hour so unless we get lots of people £2 won't cover the room hire :-(

We have to pay for the use of the village hall but we only pay a specified sum which is then divided between us. The More there the less we pay. :D we do have to pay for tea or coffee though on top. Last week one of the group brought a tin of shortbread and another brought a box of chocolates which she had been given.

@ Roland, at least that's behind you. 8)

@ WW, is your craft group a stitching group or does it extend to other crafts? If it's a stitching group, you might be interested in https://www.facebook.com/ScotStitchText/. They form the umbrella group for all the orphaned Embroiderers' Guild branches in Scotland. It's interesting to see what everyone is doing.

Meanwhile, I finished the sample Sashiko piece from the Strathendrick Stitchers' workshop yesterday. I can see how it becomes irresistible...

Oh, and we are battening down the hatches here again: why are named storms rolling in in twos these days? :(

Thanks Serinde. I had a look at that site, but as I don't have a Facebook account I couldn't I couldn't access the site fully or find anything in this area...except an exhib not far away but we are in Orkney then!!

Most of the group here are knitters, but one member does weaving on a loom as well as some 'free stitching' and another has a tapestry and some patchwork on the go.
I've taken my Hardanger projects and one of the group has expressed an interest in learning, so I lent her my MH Hardanger book.
