Re: Nick's stocking and a Dolly Mama

Thanks for the comments!! I am planning on working on my son's stocking most of the day today. I don't have alot to do on it, I've pretty much have a small part of the heal and the toe to do and the outline (of course).

The kids had a ton of fun painting the frame. Taby has become my paint partner. Anytime I paint a frame for a cross stitch, I buy her a small box or something that she can paint. I give her a choice of 2 or 3 different colors, a small thing of water, a paint brush and let her have at it.

I've almost got it finished!!!! Just the backstitching left. I should be able to get it done with two or three days of working on it. Then I can start on my hubby's stocking.

It's gorgeous, I especially like the way they've managed to show the light coming from the door, it's almost luminescent!

Re: Nick's stocking FINISHED!!!!

Post by Krissy »

I JUST finished the french knots on this!!! The outlining on the branches were a pain in the rump, the black on dark aida was hard to tell where I had stitched and where I hadn't. I had to do the lighter color and work the black from where those stitches were located. But it's done and I am happy with it!!!

Thanks!!! My Mom sent off my sewing machine cords, I should get them in the mail within the next couple of delivery days. If I don't get them tomorrow I'll probably get them Tuesday since Monday is Labor Day. Then I'll be able to sew them together!! (Taby's too).
