Nettie, yes that is the outline of an ear - I've nearly finished this page now and you can see the whole ear and a little bit of Trojan's face. It uses the most curious colours - blue, purple and dark green! But I think when the whole dog is done it will look good. I remember stitching Predator and he had bits of pink and green in him, but it worked in the picture as a whole. I shall take a photo of where I'm upto on this later.

What a great picture of your dog, let alone to make an xs from. As always, your work in progress is a pleasure to watch. I'm sharing the bench waiting for the dog to grow...

Here's a picture as promised - page 3 is not quite finished, but nearly there. Funny because as I was stitching the bit of Trojan's face with blues, purples and greens, I was thinking "oh no, it's not going to look anything like him" but as always, with your face six inches from the fabric, most things look like nothing on earth until you take a step back. So I'm pleased with the result now!

Hes coming on fast and looks great.
How many colours are you using ? and the programme you used did it allow you to pick the amount of colours you wanted to use.

Julie, there are 32 colours in it, I think. I used software called "Life Stitch Simplicity" and it uses a maximum of 40 colours. You can choose to use less if you want, but no more than the 40.

I've used the software for one other project before "Predator", which came out amazingly. Probably one of my favourite stitching projects I've ever done. Having said that, I'm really enjoying this one now!

Ally, I just got the software off ebay about 18 months ago - I think it was £7.50.
