It's great progress, especially with working on the dark fabric.

First up, an update.
This is where you last saw it a couple of days ago:

This is where I'm at now:

But here's the problem ... I'm a bit concerned.
The colours on this are really 'odd' to me. you can't tell on this picture, but the colours are really bright and in the creamy fawn colour is yellow.
I keep looking at the picture and thinking it doesn't look like these at all.
Has anyone else done this design so we can compare?
I'd hate to carry on if it's just not going to work. :(
The original picture:

I'm working on the lion.

Val is working on the tiger, but I'd still like to know what her colours are like as well.

Good progress TB :applesauce:

Maybe you could send a few bits of thread to one of the others to compare the colours?
I havent stitched many kits and I haven't had any experience of chinese kits as I'm wary of being short of threads and not being able to match them up. Sorry but I'm not much help!

Yeah, I'm hoping to compare with someone if possible.
I hadn't realised there was a problem with chinese kits not being originals, I thought it was like DMC, where you bought the real thing still, but cheaper.

I am sorry that you are not happy with the colors. It would be a shame if you did not finish this one. Hopefully it is the proper color adn you will like it more when you get a bit more done. :thinks:

Thanks everyone.
Yes, I think if I can just compare with Val or hear what Nic thinks (as she has previously done this design) it will clarify it for me one way or another.
I really hope it's ok as I love this design and it'll be the perfect present for our friend.
I have until September now to do it, so I want to get on with it asap really.

Well I haven't seen Val online, so I hope she's ok, but in the meantime the lovely Nic has come to my rescue and passed on her original chart of this design.
My chart has 24 colours ... Nic's has appx 80!
I have yet to sit and compare the colours to see how much difference there is, whether very slight variations in shading or completely different colours.
Of course the other question now is, is the pattern itself larger/smaller or whatever. :thinks:
Will hopefully have a chance to sit and compare it properly tomorrow or over the weekend and then decide what to do about it.

Hope you sort it TB! Its a a lot of stitching to do if your unsure about it and 24 colours isnt many for such a detailed design. Maybe they cut the colours down for an easier stitch with larger blocks of colour?
