Rather a bad weekend for back & tummy so I didn't get a lot done, and of course the little time I did stitch I started somthing new...

I'd come across a Little House Needleworks freebie which I want to turn into a keyholder -- not sure how to describe it but it's like a little pocket which has your keys in it on a ribbon and when you need to use them they come out but a button on the end of the ribbon keeps them attached to the pocket. Hmm, hope that makes sense.

What I'll do is show the various stages of assembly, hoping that'll make it clear :-). So far I've done the stitching. The material is 16ct rustica aida, the threads are Appleton's crewel wool. On the back is a ladybird (ladybug if you're in the US :-)) button that I got in a prize pack. The third picture shows all the other materials needed -- light green linen for lining it, dark green ribbon to hold my keys, and a daisy button (from the same prize pack as the ladybird).

I changed the chart a bit because I wanted it to be taller, and also the letters were all squashed up to the flowers in the original.

the key in the middle. does that really open something or is it a keychain. I love the old keys like that i think they look so neat!

It's actually the key to our garage, nothing exciting at all :-)

I was thinking of putting a key charm on, which would be like those old keys, but I needed the bigger buttons so I didn't
