These are beautiful Mabel, I particularly love the last design on the top row. The variegated thread works brilliantly on it :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Lovely, lovely work :applesauce: :applesauce:

I'd just like to ask, when you do your hardanger, do you use a frame or work in the hand? :thinks:

If it's quite small (like my little experiments) I work in hand, but I much prefer working in a hoop -- it's just that for a very small design you have to cut such a lot of fabric, relatively, to be able to put it in a hoop :-( which is why I don't; but if I had an unlimited supply of fabric I would!

A few WIPs -- after the false start on the Necessities Sampler (I didn't like the 18ct mono canvas) here's the next try, on 24ct Congress Cloth over two using Appleton's crewel wool in full cross stitch. I'd done these three words then realised I'd done them in the wrong colour  but have decided to leave it and just change the rest of the colours around it :-)

Eventually it will be mounted in the Artemio wooden box available from Debbie Cripps (see it here); I will keep my #5 perles in it.

My other start is on Lizzie*Kate's Prayer Connection -- I made a few changes and am now stitching it on 36ct antique white Edinburgh linen using Gloriana silks. This is a bit of the middle A:

Personally, I like the color of the wording.. so it's not a mistake but an improvement

maggs, the box is plain (light) wood that can be painted or stained if you wish; likewise the tray I want to use for my Quaker Game Board some time in the future :x:
