Xandra, Tree of Stitches was a SAL on another forum which Mrs Milkybar Kid is stitching and she told us how to join there and do a tree of our own :-). It looks really nice and with lots of different stitches, and I thought it would be a nice change!

Lviv looks beautiful in pale blue as well, I can definitely tell it's blue, sort of like ice is blue.

good luck on TOS!

:applesauce: Its hard to believe they are the same pattern as the effect is so different and so pretty for both. Really highlights how important the choice of thread and color is.

Have fun with the TOS. I'm hoping to get started as soon as I finish page 3 of my HAED, and now looking at your two designs I realize that I need to really figure out what my color choices will be.

Thanks for the info Mabel, I've now joined as well and am just downloading the charts. Some beautiful trees on there, and such a great variety

With a LOT of fiddling and changing and trying different ways, I did in the end succeed in mounting Resurrection into my speciality thread box

Here it is, closed and (slightly) open:

Thanks for all your lovely comments -- I keep walking over to where the box is just to have a look at it  :-)

Finished Sprinkles last night; it started out as a pieces based on the sugary yellow, pink and orange sprinkles I had on bread as a child in Holland, then the butterflies and flowers sort of just happened. As I was stitching it, DH said, "what have butterflies got to do with sprinkles?" I had to admit I'd just got carried away while designing...

I had some trouble getting the buterflies' bead bodies to look the way I wanted them, but finally got the right look by stringing them without couching them down.

Now I really want to start on TOS, but I have a card to make for our anniversary/DH's birthday (which is this Saturday) and as he is out tonight that's the only chance I'm going to get!

Anyway, here is Sprinkles, and a close-up of a butterfly:
