They are free patterns I have collected over the years, but I know that the shamrock one is from http://www.tor-rhuann-designs.com/

And two of them are by Margaret McQuillan, but not sure about the others.

The amazing thing I discovered about clear files (as I keep all my free patterns in clear files) is that you can draw on them with whiteboard pens and then just wipe it off, so helpful!

Here's the mini-project I've been working on. I'm sending it to someone on another forum who made me a lovely crocheted Totoro, so I'm sending back a cross-stitched version.

Image

He's done on 18 count aida and was simple to stitch (though I was very slow to finish thanks to my recent wrist op!)

I'm annoyed now that I stitched the middle yellow vertically instead of horizontally, with so much block stitching it really shows (not something I've ever had to worry about before). Plus my hoop has squished some stitches, but hopefully after he's washed and ironed that won't show.

Now all I have to do is decide whether to frame and send as a picture or to mount and send as a card, a picture maybe a little presumptuous as I've never met her IRL.

I love those cards!! :applesauce: I also can't believe they didn't all sell out. I want to do some of those for Christmas 8) .

Very cute design Helbel; I didn't notice anything about the block stitching until you said something about it, so I think its all going to be ok. Just the artist being overly critical of our own work as we tend to do. I think it will make a lovely card and whoever is receiving it will be happy to have it!

So cute! I have a pal who is Tortoro crazy. :) He looks so cuddly - perhaps he would make a lovely little cushion. :)

Great work, everyone. And I can't believe those cards didn't sell either. Numpties. Gorgeous bookmark -- Textile Heritage stuff is a bit fiddly, but lovely when finished, I think. Is Totoro one of those Japanese anime critters? Cute, anyway.

I have the fuschia one somewhere too. I stitched the poppy one and it was lovely, but a lot of work for such a small thing - LOL! It was my reintroduction to cross stitching as it was the first project I did when I took up my needles again after an 8-year break!
