It looks beautiful Mabel! And yep, that's the same one on my TOS. DMC 4010, very light and subtle variegated. Lovely!

Hurray, I did manage to finish a piece of stitching

! This is the third of my chunky squares -- the second of the two designs, with a border. I wasn't sure whether a border would work, as the afghan pattern provides a sort of border already, but I think it does; and it's nice to have the choice
The picots are a little small, done in #8 on this count (although they are more visible in real life then in the pic), so the last of the four squares I will try using #3 for the Kloster blocks, #5 for the bars and picots, and #8 for the surface stitched. But that won't be until after the weekend

. For now, here is number 3:

Back again! Lots of work this week so I won't be around much but wanted to show you to little things I finished.
the first I finished last week just before we left for Beaulieu, it's an "18" in BRIGHT

colours for youngest's birthday later this year, and will also be on the website as the picture for my numbers chart:
I also designed a set of four itty bitty designs last week, which can be stitched with or without cutting, and when stitched on Hardanger fabric are just the right size for coasters; they're all done in combinations of DMC color variations perle #5 with solid-colour #8. I'm stitching the non-cut version, and here is the first one I did, with a close-up of the filling stitch on top of uncut fabric:

Love them both

Which color variation did you use for the non-cut? It looks lovely

@ Karen: I will, don't worry
The set of four I designed specifically for beginners, as you get to practice Kloster blocks and satin stitch and filling stitches, but there is no scary cutting if you don't want it, and they are quick to stitch so you see result quickly, and you end up with some useful coasters (or cards if you prefer)
@ XandraS: this one is 4050/4060 with (I think) 991 dark green
