New here, question about removing a stain?

This might be an impossibility, but you never know, so here goes...

I have a finished piece from the 'All Our Yesterday's range, which I did about 9 years ago. I never did have it framed (still need to, lol). I just rolled it up and put it away, but when I took it out recently to wash it to freshen it up so I can frame it, there is a small yellowish stain on the fabric in the middle of the design. I'm assuming it's probably a grease mark, but I'm wondering if anyone can suggest what to do to try and remove it. If I can't, I guess I'll just have to put it down to being a first time stitcher BIG mistake and never allow any opportunity for grease to get near my work again, lol.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Did you use colour fast cotton? Anchor and DMC are both usually colourfast.

A little trick I learned when I had a house rabbit (or three) and was in the proocess of house training them.

Fill a washing bowl with warm water and add about a cap full of white vinegar. The vinegar dissolves most stains (grease, urine, food, a few drinks, etc) but isn't strong enough to dissolve the fibres themselves.

Thanks Angel, I'll try treating it like that. The threads I used were DMC, so I'm sure they'll be fine. They didn't bleed at all when I washed the piece in tepid water and baby shampoo.

Yeah, DMC is pretty good when it comes to washing. A bit of warm water and white vinegar should cause no problems for it. Good luck. I hope it works. Let me know the outcome?
