Hello from Denver

Hi, everyone! I'm Lisa (obviously! lol).

I have been stitching for about 24 years now and have loved every minutes of it. Nothing like a few minutes of stitching to make the stress of the day go away! I did take a 7 year hiatus from stitching but the moment I picked it back up I couldn't for the life of me remember why I had set it aside!!!

When my boys were little they would snuggle next to me on the couch while I stitched away and when I picked it back up my "baby" came and sat next to me and said "Just like the good ole' days". He was 16 then! Now my boys are off to college and that leaves me plenty of stitching time!

I recently finished Noah's Sub (Stoney Creek). This was my largest project but not the most detailed I have done. It turned out great. Due to time restraints (life) it took me a little over two years to finish. I am now working on Unicorn & The Princess (Stoney Creek). It have been working on this for a little over three weeks and it should be finished this weekend. I have put in extra time on it so that I can hurry to get it done.

Why the rush to finish you ask???? Because I stumbled upon this forum a few months ago and saw everyone rambling on about this HAED thing. Silly me just HAD to goggle it. Bad. Bad. Bad. I really tried to not fall into your silly little obsession but at last I couldn't resist and the very second that I am done with the Unicorn & The Princess I will be starting on this:

The postman is set to deliver my supplies tomorrow or Friday. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I think I will even do a SAL. :-) I work from home and have several clients who can hardly wait from one appointment to their next to see what progress has been made on the current project and they are really excited to see Santa take shape!

So for now I am going to say "Thank You" for introducing me to a great project. Later I may say something different! :-) LOL

Wish me luck!

Lisa

Welcome Lisa from stormy Melbourne (Aus).

Oh dear, you got trapped into a HAED did you. I must admit many of them are so beautiful and I love the one you have chosen too. However I am well aware I have enough stitching stash for the next 20 years at least and as I am in my 70's I am trying hard not to get hooked.

Good luck with the new project.

Squirrel

Hello, Everyone!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I am busy at work for the next few days so no time to stitch. :-( I don't even want to go to the mailbox because I know my goodies are there waiting for me and I won't be able to do anything about it.

I am going to take some pictures of some of the stuff I've finished over the years and put up in my gallery. Should have that done this weekend. I love to stitch but never frame them anymore. I have them in a box. Sad but true!

Have a great day!

Oh, Squirrel, I sure hope I'm still able to stitch when I'm in my 70's but I'm going to need better reading glasses by then I'm sure! And I have plenty of stuff in my stash too but I'm a sucker for Santa and once I saw him I knew I was doomed!

LOL, Laura. I wonder if they are getting a kickback from HAED. I refuse to go research this silk thread I see Mable chanting about. I'm quite sure I don't have the willpower to not fall into that trap either!!!
