Is Q-Snap safe to use on stitched areas? I have the 8x8 one, and it is too small for my WIP.

I've done it without any problems. I put scrap material over the stitched area, that will be under the q snap and it works fine--hope that makes sense--I use a very thing material when I do that

i've used them on all my enourmous HAED's and I only have the 8x8 one as well. I just fold a piece of fabric over any stitched area before snapping it into place..I've even left them on for months and still was fine

I use Q-snaps all of the time and I don't even put any material on the stitches and I have never had any issue at all!!!!! I love Q-snaps.

You mean I don't have to take it apart every time I'm done for the day??

I leave it on until I finish a page..the last page I did took me 4 months so I think it would be fine to leave it on for awhile.

Once I get mine set I leave it until all of the stitching is done.

I think I will try to leave it on then because it takes time to keep putting it back on... o_O

I have a few different Q Snap sets that I mix and match frame sizes.
I leave it on my project until I am done with it. I loosen my fabric a bit but I don't completely take it off the frame at night. That being said.. I have never attempted a HAED type design. My biggest chart has been 1.5 pages X 2 pages.
I do have some blue foamy shelf liner that I have cut up to use. It helps to grip and it helps to cushion but I don't use it all the time.

Where do you buy that stuff?

Target.. probably WalMart too.. somewhere around the dishes usually. Or it could be by the kitchen drawer/ silverware organizer stuff. Its in the same spot as the adhesive stuff you can put in the bottom of drawers. I think I have even seen it at IKEA. Not sure if you have Lowes/ Home Depot in Canada.. but those big home improvement stores might have it too.

I used to keep taking mine off at the end of every day but I got fed up of doing that and now I leave it on for weeks at a time and I haven't had any problems.

I found some scrap pieces of Aida that fit under the snaps perfectly so I'll use those until I can get the foamy stuff suggested! I love this forum, you guys are so helpful

Thanks for the info on Q Snaps, I picked some up while on holiday and will be using them on the Eeyore Birth sampler I'm doing. I'm hoping I can just leave them on (it took me forever to get it centered). I just loosen the tension when I'm done stitching. I hope this doesn't affect the quality of my piece, I want it to be perfect!
