Hello from Russia

Post by Asea Aranion »

Hello everyone! My name's Maria and I am from Russia. I'm 22 and I work as a teacher of English. I love cross-stitching and playing the piano. My current project is 'The Gardener' by Joan Elliott. Nice to meet you all!

Thank you so much, Midge, I love English (and I study French too).
I'm going to create an album in the Gallery to show some of my works. The latest photo of 'The Gardener' is this (the picture is clickable):

Actually now the girl has a bouquet of roses in her hands already, but I want to finish the top of her dress first and then make the next photo.
Originally, the girl is a blondie :) but my friend who is a brunette wished her to look like herself :)

Hello from the USA. As others have said, your written English is very good, and I bet you you speak English well also. I've always dreamed of visiting Russia, but I'm retired now and don't think I will make it. Welcome to the US if it is your desire to come here. By the way, I'm one of the several male stitchers here. One learns a great deal on this forum. Gary

You know, both French and Nothern Ireland are something special to me. I fell in love with French thanks to musicals like Notre-Dame de Paris and I am very fond of Irish motifs in music and fine arts. Sure we'll have many things to talk about! :shamrock: :)

I did some little bookmark designs and this is the first one so big. I love her medieval - fantasy-like style, bright colours and clear backstitch contours, but still I think the best part of the work is ahead - attaching beads and metallic threads!
Look, this is the next step - I've just taken photo of it:
